The Corvette filter / FPR runs at 58 PSI, as do most GM vehicles from what I've read in the past few weeks.

The corvette regulator/ filter is 1999-2003, the pressure is regulated to 58PSI.

Hi great info Am in the process of installing a beams into my ae86. I got a fuel cell of eBay but need to use an external fuel pump, any recommendations on what pump and filter should I use? Requires need your help here
@DoctoredGarage7 ай бұрын
I haven't had good luck with inline pumps. The longest life I've gotten out of one was an AEM, but if I were you I would buy the hanger to put the pump into the fuel cell. I have another video on my channel talking about it

What would be awesome is some info on what wire need to be connected to get the beams to run theres almost no info out there on that .. and good info on the fuel system

If you take a look at my website, www.doctoredgarage.com, I have a general wiring guide in there on what circuits need to get wired to where :) as well as a bunch of other information on how to do a beams swap.

Dr No need for vacuum line from intack? Seems you don't connect any vacuum line to intack
@DoctoredGarage Жыл бұрын
I didn't connect a vacuum line to it, it ran really well this way on the stock ECU. However, I never tried running a vacuum line to it until after I switched to a standalone ECU.

@@DoctoredGarage thanks a lot Man I use 6 bar fuel pump It is lot of fuel pressure Car is running bad and black smoke Sometime chucking Spark plug getting black As I notice it is very high pressure Can u advise me please
@DoctoredGarage Жыл бұрын
6bar is 87psi, that's way too high. I'd drop that pressure down to 4bar and see what is like.

@@DoctoredGarage Dr As I have fuel pump in tank with attached regulations 6 bar now I put on fuel return regulatore dropped from 6 bar to 4 bar Do you think any problem for fuel pump ? Best regards
@unclereeko84474 жыл бұрын
Unless I missed it, you forgot to mention what pressure to run the fuel system spec is. I know you said you run at 62 PSI but the BEAMS engine is known to be very fussy when it comes to fuel pressure. We run ours at 73psi because that's what we were told after many hours of asking. But I cannot say whether that is the correct spec. I would very much like to know if you have a spec for the fuel pressure of you just chose 62 because it works for you.
@DoctoredGarage4 жыл бұрын
After searching through a bunch of altezza forums and talking to several altezza builders/tuners, the generally accepted stock fuel pressure spec should be 62psi, but I've never been able to confirm it in a Toyota manual.

Is there a particular reason you chose not to send fuel in via the stock dampered inlet, and out to an adjustable regulator from the front of the rail (opposite to your layout)?
@DoctoredGarage4 жыл бұрын
Not really. At the time I thought this was a "cleaner" setup.

Is it necessary to install pressure regulator? Does it comes with engine? Or aftermarket? Alone walbro fuel pump cannot maintain pressure?
@DoctoredGarage2 жыл бұрын
It is necessary to install a fuel pressure regulator. The altezza uses one in the pump housing (in tank). You'll need a pressure regulator of some sort, or a pwm fuel pump setup to maintain the correct pressure.

Hey question so No pressure regulator one in the back of the fuel pressure? @doctorgarage
@DoctoredGarage4 жыл бұрын
I don't understand your question, can you rephrase it? :)
@ridetyler2273 жыл бұрын
what do you do about venting the tank/ the original charcoal canister? Thanks!
@DoctoredGarage3 жыл бұрын
I use a fuel cell with a rollover valve for a vent, so I don't have it hooked back up to the original charcoal canister. On my hatchback restomod I plan on using a charcoal canister, I'll just need to figure out an ECU that is capable of controlling the vent properly.

Do you have an inline fuel filter installed? I adjusted my fuel pressure regulator to 60 and it was rich. I dialed it back down to 50. I’m getting a really rough idle and it’s pissing me off.

Yup! I have a fuel lab 10 micron filter

@@DoctoredGarage thanks. Let me head to the store to buy 1. My engine was inactive for a while and I’m getting a rough idle, even throwing up an engine code. Should I clean or change injectors?
@DoctoredGarage3 жыл бұрын
I would have the injectors cleaned and flow tested, you might have a sticking injector or something

Hi Dr I'm going to fit 3sge beam on my toyota cressida chassis I'm going to get 255lph or 340 lph fuel pump Someone recommended me lexus lx570 fuel pump What is your opinion? I have fuel pressure regulator hks and nuke So you said I need to set the pressure at 60 psi ? Please correct me Thanks Dr
@DoctoredGarage2 жыл бұрын
255lph fuel pump is more than enough. I'm not sure about the LX570 fuel pump, I'm not familiar with it. General consensus from the beams swap community is ~62psi, but somewhat recently I found the factory spec may actually be only 45psi. I ran at 62psi until I got a standalone ECU and a tune, then I dropped down to 45psi.

Where to put the vacuum line in the manifold?
@DoctoredGarage4 жыл бұрын
The throttle body has 2 vacuum ports. When you do the swap, you'll delete the two things that normally use these ports - evaporative emissions solenoid and intake box door solenoid.
@DoctoredGarage4 жыл бұрын
You can use either of these ports for the FPR

I built my engine mounts myself, it puts the engine far enough back that it doesn't touch the sway bar. Most of the swap mount kits out there do now :)

Can the stock GTS fuel be used?
@DoctoredGarage4 жыл бұрын
Which GTS parts? The stock tank and fuel lines are ok, but the stock GTS regulator cannot be used. You'll have to adapt the GTS fuel line to the BEAMS fuel rail and return from your new FPR. You'll probably also want to upgrade the fuel pump.
@ae86edrift4 жыл бұрын
I'm sorry, I wrote part of the question in my head only. Can I use the stock GTS fuel pump? Will it work?
@DoctoredGarage4 жыл бұрын
Possibly, but I'm not aware of anybody trying it. Most people upgrade to a ~255lph fuel pump
