Piotr Czarnecki The rest of the band agrees with you! At around 0:48, you can see one of the front row cornet players mouth the word “Wow!”

I confess I was surprised to see three ladies playing Euphonium!
@doctorgrowl5 ай бұрын
They are all terrific players! The two in the front row are playing Eb alto (same as Eb tenor) horns, and the lady in the second row is playing a Bb baritone horn. Both euphonium players in this video are men. However, in other concerts, we've had some fine female euphonium players.

Yep, she plays it better than Roger Webster and everyone else. Simply incredible.

man, they did the xylo player dirty with the bad lighting and not having proper audio recording back there.
@doctorgrowl5 жыл бұрын
It was a big challenge for the video crew. The stage lighting was low in the back where the percussion are. To get even that level of light they had to increase the gain on the handheld camera and use the camera microphone to supplement the audio from the microphones at the front of the stage.

Just played this great playing, where is this band from
@doctorgrowl Жыл бұрын
This is the Sheldon Theatre Brass Band, based in Red Wing, Minnesota. FYI the woman playing the cornet solos in Cossack Fire Dance recently joined the faculty at University of Minnesota and also joined the Canadian Brass Quintet.

If I'm right, this is most timely music. Were not the Cossacks Ukrainian? Brilliant music anyway.

To me this sounds more Yiddish, no Cossack.
