@Royal Haroon Hi! My best advice is to understand the mechanism behind acne, and focus on eliminating different parts of this mechanism. You need a couple of things to create acne, and sometimes these things happen because of genetics, hormones, puberty, skincare habits etc. Whatever the cause is: try to not stress about it, and teach yourself how acne is formed and how to eliminate some of these parts, so it will be harder for your skin to have acne. What worked for me (33 years old and have had acne for a longgggg time): benzoyl peroxide to kill P. Acnes bacteria. But don’t leave it on overnight because that will cause irritation!! Get a 5% facewash or gel and leave that in your face for 2 minutes in the morning and then wash off. That will kill the bacteria that is essential in forming acne. BP does not have to be expensive. You can try niacinamide which might help with oil production, but that did nothing for me. You can use salicylic acid to clear the pores of oil, but that was always a bit too irritating for me. Instead: glycolic acid works great for me! That helps with clearing the pores a bit as well, as well as exfoliating the dead skin cells and keratin plugs which all helps with keeping pores cleared. So you want to mainly tackle bacteria and build up of oil/dead skin, if you find products that help you with that - that you like - you will be doing a great job already! Remind yourself that you can’t do more than you can, and what is left beyond that is just what it is. Gut health and diet might be important too, but so is not stressing too much, so just try to stay interested in learning about skin and health, and understanding that you can only do your best! You are wonderful the way you are, it’s okay to want to grow and make the best of things and yourself, but don’t forget to breathe and love yourself :). Ps. A mild basic facewash and (SPF) moisturizer is also important, so that you can clean your face without drying it out and moisturize without clogging pores. I personally really love Cerave foaming facewash and Cerave Pm facial moisturizing lotion. I didn’t like The Ordinary moisturizer, but I do love their glycolic acid toner, lactid acid serum and the red peeling solution. You will definitely get glowing skin from these! Paula’s choice SPF products are great for me but a bit more pricey.

we talk mostly about face... but lactic acid happens to be fantastic for skin on my bootie. I often get sweats and some irritations and lactic acid removes it all over night and keeps the skin very nice! totally recommend if you struggle with this too :)

What are your thoughts on the glycolic acid toner?
@paolafiora41703 жыл бұрын
I have been using the toner over two years in my 50 ish skin and I love it. leave it overnight. I wake up with my skin gently exfoliated. Just once a week is enough. One of my favorites of The O. along with Buffet and caffeine solution!

I use the lactic acid and retinoid mentioned (not on the same days!) I DEFINITELY GET THE GLASS SKIN EFFECT. my acne is there but like 10% of what is was and it wasn't much to begin with. I just love their products!

Try their "The buffet" for added moisture with the Lactic Acid. It's a game changer. I also started using their rose hip seed oil a couple weeks ago, and within a week it's cleared my moderate acne. :)

I would like to see you put together an example skin care routine for different problems ppl struggle with. Like from morning to evening day by day routine than we could base off of. I think that could help people who are overwhelmed with all the products and layering, different products and different brands.

I’ve used the ordinary products and have found no irritation or skin damage. A little goes a long way . Good to know the the retinol one is a good starter . Thanks Doctors

The Ordinary Niacinamide has completely changed my skin. I’m 32 and I was still getting acne and those little bumps almost like pimples but not all over my forehead which would become so itchy and dry and in the sun you could see them covering my forehead.My skin was red and inflamed and along my chin I would have a lot of sebum coming out of my pores along with the sore pimples both that would come to a head and blind pimples which would be on my chin,under the chin/neck and cheeks mainly.I wouldn’t have a lot of blackheads but a few. All those issues have gone. I still get a spot here or their once a month. But everything else is gone lol My skin is also glowing my makeup goes on better.It started to improve my skin in a week. I know it’s that’s because everything else including diet stayed the same. I have been using it now for a little under a year and for $9 Australian I can’t believe how good it is. I sound like an ad 🤣🤣🤣 I’m just so happy 😃

Can you do a layering regime video which actually references how often you use things like retinol/ lactic/ glycolic/ vitamin c/ niacinimide and what you shouldn't use together, what's better used in the morning etc? There are so many products out there now it's a little crazy working out an at home routine.

@@kittylover9790 i’ve seen somewhere and also based on my experience, the most popular combo TO serums for multilayering are Retinol -> Alpha arbutin -> Niacinamide. It gives you the best result especially to brighten your skin and reduces dark spots. But idk for any other acids tho.

Try out the derivatives Vit c from TO such as the Ascorbyl 12%, great for skin brightning nut can be sticky when layered.

I find TO’s serums so sticky, uncomfortably, but their creams lay smooth for me and absorb quickly.

When vit C formulas are anhydrous they are tacky or grainy. But they work much better than water based formulas. I put vitamin c on in the evening, outside of retinoids I see the best results from vitamin c.

I'm kind of confused about your statement about The Ordinary's ascorbic acid powder (13:36) and how you don't recommend it because of it not being stable. That doesn't make sense to me really because ascorbic acid is unstable in solution and not in powder form. It is very stable in a dry powder form. Do you mean that it isn't as stable once mixed into solution? I'm not sure what you mean. Personally I like DIY'ing more with ascorbic acid (NOT for everyone though- check Lab Muffin Beauty's video for her recipe) using powder because it kind of works around the stability issues. It allows you to use a stable powder and mix it into solution when YOU need it. Instead of buying a serum that's already dissolved in water and has been sitting on a shelf for who knows how long.

Can confirm with the niacinamide. The 10% ordinary made me break out and get irritated, but I switched to a lower strength one (beauty of joseon propolis and niacinamide) and it feels great

This is so funny because I have the caffeine and I don’t like it on my face so I thought I’d just use it up on my scalp because it’s cheaper than the hair loss specific products. It worked great by the way.

I love the Niancimide. It has really worked magic with my skin. Used to be really oily and constantly having pimples have been a normal thing for me, soon 37. Bought the niamcimide last October and it quickly made my skin less oily and since then I have had ONE pimple. Wish I had known about it sooner. Their rosehip and squalane oils are also good, does wonders to the skin during our dry winters here in Sweden if/when moisturizer is not enough. And without making my skin more oily or acne prone (like coconut oil can be).
