Okay i wrote alot....but For everyone starting off. Check how many steps you do in a day. Dont change anything. Go ahead and add 10,000 steps to that. And youll see yourself shredding slot of fat. Especially back fat. In terms of food. Stay at your maintenance calories. Find tht out by logging the food you eat for two weeks and weigh yourself everyday. Dont change your earing patterns during this time. Combine the added steps while staying at your maintenance calories and you are golden. Or course reducing sugar and adding more protein will be even more beneficial but just slowly improve your diet and not just going 0 to 100 that quickly. Same thing applies to the steps. Do ehat you can and try to get to a daily addition of 10,000 steps. Ehats great about walking is you can do it everyday without being overly sore or worrying about getting injured.

This video was very helpful. I’m a mailman, I walk roughly around 30,000 steps everyday. Walking for 6-12-ish hours, but I never get tired or fatigued, my feet do hurt from all the walking but that’s it. But I love walking, best thing any person can do is just that.

Bro. I discovered one of your videos and adopted some of the things you talked about (walking 10k steps a day, 30+ minutes at 3.2 speed max incline). And at 35 I’m honestly in the best shape I’ve ever been in. Body fat is down from 25%+ to 20% in the past 6 months or so. So I truly appreciate it. But also….. how many of these videos are you going to make? lol, they all even have the same title practically. 🤣

There is generally some good advice here. There is nothing wrong with using walking or moderate aerobic activity as a tool to move towards a caloric deficit. I don’t like recommending doing it only from diet because there is a risk to drop calories too low, and lose out on important micronutrients. Plus, body dysmorphia and eating disorders need to be taken into consideration. Walking as planned exercise, plus looking for ways to increase non exercise activity (NEAT) are helpful strategies to use in conjunction with strength training and reduced caloric intake.

I don't agree with a lot of things you say. First of all, it's less about what you eat, if you don't know and control your macros. As long as you know your numbers, your source of it becomes less of a concern. When it comes to carbs, you wanna resort to high-quality carbs, including rice, potatoes, and oats. Nothing wrong with protein bars, as long as you stay within the macro needs, and use it as a secondary choice of energy source. Protein bars aren't protein bars, there are huge differences in their macros, and most have too much sugar and fats to protein.

I weigh 260 lbs. so I need 260 g of protein a day to lose weight?
@nl37125 күн бұрын
No, the amount of protein is calculated for your GOAL WEIGHT. If you want to lose weight, while maintaining muscle mass, you can eat more protein than 1g/lb. This is the same as a bodybuilder on a “cut”, where muscle preservation is key. GOOD LUCK
@eros7274 күн бұрын
I’ve heard that it’s actually closer to 0.7 grams/pound. But even then, the pounds are the ones comprised of muscle mass, not total pounds which include fat. I tried to find the video that explains it better, but I can’t remember where I saw it, but it’s out there.

I like the Karch-McArdle BMR calculation because it takes into account your body fat% since I don’t feel the need “feed” my fat mass so it automatically calculates caloric needs for lean body mass such as your bones, organs, skin, skeletal muscle etc. I love Dr Mike’s idea of asking chat gpt to calculate my macros based on the parameters I want. It even tells me the max amount of carbs and fat I can consume to maintain weight loss and the min amount of protein I need to maintain lean muscle mass. So I can work with a “window” vs a target. I have learned that the targets are minimums to achieve while staying in a caloric deficit.
