Good little tip for halfling starting out. There is a guy in the druid garden, Uner Gnarltrunk. He gives a quest to deliver a note to Deputy Tagil, who is at the entrance to rivervale in the misty thicket. He gives you a coin you take back to Uner. You can repeat it as much as you like, you get a Wisdom potion that sells for over 1pp, fishing pole, etc... Good way to cash up to buy bags and starter spells.

I tested it and ran it 10 times and got the other drops like he carrot,etc but no wisdom potion yet. They might have nerfed it so it drops less. Still, good quest to get some started cash, faction and level 1 exp!

@@doctornachoz8099 Aye the RNG is ever random. I've gotten 3 in 10 runs and then 0 for the next 10.

Also. 1. Kill a couple beetles for the first dot you get. 2. Buy all your spells lvl 1-5 before you take a larger travel. 3. If you stick around Rivervale concentrate on Spiders and Wolves either for Selling or raising Tailoring. Very handy for the start of a server both to make silk and leather armor. Making a Barb and farm bear pelts is a great idea for making large tailored packs which is 6 slot 10% wr. And weighs almost nothing. Much better than the considerably heavier baught bags and backpacks. Keep killing spiders and Wolves untill around lvl 5 where you can kill Goblins near Runnyeye. At lvl 5 you can Origin or gate to town. and sell and make sharpen rustys and make ore for Smithing. If your fast enough raising smithing, making banded can be profitable for a bit untill the market is saturated.

As a halfling druid you should grab the Deputy Tagil quest from Uner Gnarltrunk on your way to Misty Thicket. Has a chance to give you an item worth 1pp.

That is a good fast starter quest! I haven't been awarded the potion yet, but it could be bad RNG for me.

@@doctornachoz8099 It is totally RNG, but it costs nothing for you to do it especially if you are going back and forth to pick up spells/skills. Also, I'm not sure if you mentioned in this video to pick up your extra backpack in the bank, but thats always important!

You can at level 5 origin, and buy your own spells, just make sure you pick up gate, so you can get back to your bind. This way you will only need level 1 mules for other cities i there is a spell missing in yours.

Qeynos was hands down the BEST starting area on classic eq. Not sure if your server is the same but there are quests you can do to get to level 12 in 6 or so hours. On P99 green server, I was the first druid to lvl 10 doing qeynos quests.

There will be a market for fire beetle eyes early in the game, for flame lick spell. They don't drop in faydark

Helpful vid. As with cleric, druid is one of those classes I never gave a fair go with. I was thinking of going with my lesser played classes with new servers so this was good. What are you opinions on Bards? It feels Half Elves always get the short end of the stick when compared to other races, but besides starting area, I see little difference between a human and wood elf bard. Good stuff, looking forward to new start. Just wish they had planned for server opening closer to the holiday weekend lol.

I think bards are good, especially when you get to raiding. Early on with a fresh server the problem with bards is going to be the need for musical instruments. Yeah, the humans and wood elves are so close. They're both cute and sexy, so it all comes down to liking tall and beautiful or short and cute.

I've always had good luck running down the path. Seems not too many mobs path onto it. As long as you're not KOS to the guards.

Yep, the path seems safer and you can always use the sneak when in doubt.

You can't parcel off the tlp servers so sending money and spells won't work unless you have that toon on the tlp server. Also I think you are prolly better off spending 45 minutes in the newbie zone to hit lvl 4 or 5 and build a little coin Can't remember the cons of the mobs in commons but I don't think there are many lvl 1-3s there.

That's true. What I meant was make a mule on the same account. The mule stays in your home city and receives money from your toon that's out leveling up. Mule buys spells and sends them through parcel service to commonlands tunnel parcel vendor. All of this is on one account, same server, but different toons. Another way we did it with Selos/Mangler was to make the Krono on selos and then use it to buy stuff on Mangler. Kronos are tied to accounts and can be used on any server.

Make sure to watch out for Kizdean Gix around the toll booth area. He will ruin a new halflings day real fast.

First thing to do is delete the druid and make a useful class, if you want to heal make a cleric, if you want to dps make Wiz, Mag, Monk, Necro etc

Starting out in Greater Faydark is a good thing. Solo or Duo kill stuff near the guards under the treehouse for the first few levels. Slowly try and move north towards Orc hill and get a group. My Cleric Guide #3 is where you eventually want to end up in a group. If you need money, there is a mail run quest you can do from Felwithe to Kelethin that should work out well for you. Good luck!

Druids... the "jack of all trades" of casters... I barely started one as a box toon on my live server and can honestly say they are kind of boring! The epic(s) are pretty weak, too. This all might be heavy bias from me as I played a Shadow Knight and mostly enjoy melee anyway :P. I created a half elf since the generic uniform is way more visually appealing along with their overall physique!

Yes, the SK is the "Terminator" class of group melee. The druid has it rough. Some of the spells are nice at the higher level, but their best days were in classic I feel. Same with the enchanter.

@@doctornachoz8099 I agree. I played the SK decently enough, but there are some phenomenal players out there who put me to shame lol. Now? I have 1 of each class I'm raising up to finally check out what I've been missing. LOVE Bards and Rogues so far and getting a feel for Wizards. Still have to get around to grinding exp while I do each epic the old fashioned way. Mage epic is going to make me go nuts trying to spawn Quillmane...

@@doctornachoz8099 I need to take a look. On live servers there are usually like 2-6 place holders that spawn incredibly fast even for the likes of me staging 6 alts in zone lol... TLP is a tad more simplified so that there are less place holders and possibly faster respawns. So much so that I got a cloak for my Warrior on Phinigel before I had to quit. It was fun being a flying ogre warrior :D
