10 Levels In 2 Hours - Quickest Way To Get Through Early Levels - Everquest Project 1999

I always dread the first 10-20 levels for any new character. You don't have any of your tools... your weak... and it's painfully slow getting to the fun part of your class.
Because of that, I've tested many ways to level your character quickly in these early levels. Obviously, your best bet is to get a druid or bard to power level you... but not all of us have that close max lvl friend who wants to spend a few hours helping you.
I've tried doing quest turn ins like Crushbone belts, greater lightstones, and goblin ears... Even though, these work very well, they can cost you a pretty penny plus you'll need to do multiple trips of full inventory to make it through all the levels. Also... many of these quests were nerfed to give much less exp than they once did.
So, after all that, I've come to this method which is now my favorite to grind out those first 10 levels (and often can get it to take me to 12-15). This method requires the use of a Brazier of Elemental Summoning. For only a few hundred platinum, you can use this fire pet to "burn" through your first levels ;).

erudites are pretty much the worst starting class for a paladin stat wise haha. I went with him more for the unique armor and cool look erudite paladins get late game. I geared him out with pretty much complete best in slot pre raid gear and he still has less str and sta than my lvl 1 ogre warrior lol.

Smoldering brand is the best newb weapon no matter the class. It can take you well into the teens, maybe up to level 20.

Quickest power leveling method: be a wealthy level 1 able to spend hundreds of platinum on day one…

Oh I thought this was a video to help you level 1-10. Only a minute and a half in and see you need to funnel gear. Would be nice to see a video on how to level early.

Nice one! Combine this with the blackburrow teeth quest, collect 300 and you'll get lvl 19 to 21 depending on your race/class.

yea i want to try that with a future character for sure. I'm scared of trains over there lol. worst thing is to lose your pet early due to someone training a high lvl

This item drops off the summoner, I believe he said that, which is in the same room the priest is in. It's a square pit room deep into upper guk. The priest spawns in the pit and the summoner in an alcove to one side of the pit. It is a rare spawn and a rare drop.

What's your opinion on going Dark Elf Enchanter for the Hide ability? Do you think it's worth it, or is High Elf still better for the higher starting Cha?

High elf is definitely best choice for min maxxing if that's something you like. I have found the hide ability unreliable as a means to break charm as a dark elf. It works, but you're going to miss some kills because it fails and charm never breaks. It's nice to have at least until kunark rolls out though. When the goblin gazuhgi ring starts dropping, hide is even less important for enchanter. Nice for afks though lol.

Now I'm trying to think of a better method. Maybe in a zone like karana you could work up to level 9 or 10 mostly relying on the pet. then do bandits to 13 or so collecting sashes as you go. then you could get another few levels from turning in the sashes. Or maybe there's a way you could get a lot of orc belts. Just trying to think of something that could get you another few levels of hand ins after the pet is no longer useful

I've thought about that as well combining it with quests. I was thinking north karana with the lightstone quests. I think the 12 pet can kill the willowwisps if I remember correctly. Those turn ins can get you to 15-16. Gnoll teeth have also been mentioned by others. I've done it with orc belts once. Crushbone can be a bit overpopulated often though which cuts down on kills per minute.

@@RektYou NK would probably be the best zone... Give the pet a hard hitting magical 2hander and you can clean house... If you roll a class with lull, you can do Raiders/Bandits as well and just keep the sashes

if you're enchanter, then kedge keep is super fun at that range. its always empty, great ZEM, easy camps once you figure out the mechanics of hte underwater fight. City of Mist, Solb, and Lower Guk are other potentials but often group oriented and a bit slower in my opinion.

I started a bard cus of a youtube video from this guy that said bard's were excellent zero-downtime soloers but man im strugglin, plus i found out last night they fixed swarm kiting so now mobs only take damage if they're still. Does it get easier? Im 13 now

I haven't heard about the change they need to be stationary. I haven't played the game in a few months though so that may be. It's a bit rough swarm kiting in the early levels. It's not until you get the higher ranged AE dot that it's a bit easier. It's good to learn at those early lvls, but you can really start to do wonders 25+.

haha, I just logged on for the first time in 7 months 2 days ago. First things I did was get my HS key. It was me and 20 ST members at both camps pretty much lol. I do have some vids in mind and want to record again soon. I am trying to get my sea legs back first though haha. I looked rough trying to solo yesterday. For my next vids, I'm thinking permafrost bear pit, deeper seb crawls, and of course more HS.

Blackened Alloy Bastard Sword. On P99, pets' max damage can go above normal for their level with a high dmg weapon at dmg x 2 + 1. Buy for 50p or farm a 24 dmg BABS and any pet wielding it will increase their max hit to 49. This is nerfed for the 45dmg weighted axe though.

A level 15ish pet can proc the lifetap stages from kaesora. If you've got the play to blow they can even proc an axe of the velium brood.

Looks like your pet hitting for 18, which I think indicates it is/was the max level pet for Mage 12 spell.

he actually ended up being a 13 which is the lvl 12 spell max. it was nice. they do relaly well.

If you give him a higher base damage weapon it will hit higher, like 20s. A rusty polearm would improve it.

I would have to do 50% of the damage to the mob to get anymore than 50% of the exp from the kill. I've thought about doing this with a partner. having a group mate makes pets have no exp penalty so you'd get the same amount of exp but could get 2 people leveled quick

yes, definitely. in the first 5 levels or so with any character, try and keep your distance from any of the fight because some of the things could kill you quick. But as a tank class, you can start to help your pet more so than casters when he gets in trouble. You can step in and take a few shots while your pet super regens to full. My paladin here was essentially just a warrior the whole time but with much worse stats lol. I didn't have spells until after this pet died. I felt much more comfortable doing it with him than my necro who had lvl 1 spells the whole time and could get one shot by most of the stuff I fought lol

yeah but now your lvl 12 and all your skills are zero. So you cant hit shit and all your spells fizzle your entire mana bar.

You'll have plenty of hours to max them out grinding past 12. Your lvl 12 skill lvl means shit anyways. You just saved literal hours of time with the suggestions in the video. So, do it whichever way you want. My lvl 12 with zero skill points has tanked just as effectively as my lvl 12 maxxed to the teeth skill tank lol.
