What brilliant way of teaching using graphics and comparitive images, the way the fonts for HA crystals were larger for enamel smaller for dentin and smallest for bone. Helps u remember things well. Also the happy kisaan pouring water(minerals) at different rates into the dentin showing the rate for each of the primary, secondary and tertiary dentin.... Brilliant. 🤯 You are doing in minutes what the professors aren't able to in hours. 👍👍

That was so clear thank you! Subscribed ;) How come there is no mention of the basal membrane in the initial stage, between the ameloblasts and the odontoblasts? Is it what you call the cell-free zone?
@doctoropsyindia2 жыл бұрын
thank you yasmine.. yes basement membrane is there & it has been mentioned in videos on amelogenesis and life cycle of ameloblasts. it has more of a role with ameloblasts than odontoblasts, thats y not mentioned here.

In my lecture notes it says that calcospherites are the way by which dentin is mineralized. But it also says that what separates manteldentin from primary dentin is that manteldentin is made by matrix vesicles, but from this it can be understood that all dentin mineralization is made with calcospherites? and are calcospherites the same as matrix vesicles?
@doctoropsyindia Жыл бұрын
matrix vesicles are membrane bound structures that are released from the odontoblasts into the organic matrix to initiate and promote mineralization. Calcospherites are the spherical zones of mineralization which increase in size centrifugally.

4:22 how predentin formed, isn't produced parallel to the odontoblastic processes
@doctoropsyindia2 жыл бұрын
predentin is just that initial layer of dentin that has not been mineralized yet, so it consists of only the organic matter..
