What if you didn't want to cheap out but you got tricked by some doctor who presented good results from other patients, why is that your fault? How can you do the "right" homework when nothing is guaranteed? How can you be sure that you have choosen the right doctor?
@MrRolandas12 күн бұрын
This of course can happen, and that's why I encourage to do a lot of research on as many places as possible. Doctors/clinics will always present their hest results. That's normal. However your goal is to find what's an average result by finding real patient reviews. The more, the better. Once you look through 20-30-50 results from the same doctor, you will have a good idea what's an average result coming from that place. Also worth noting that if a clinic does multiple surgeries per day (dome by different doctors/technician teams), that's when you can't really determine quality, or average result as you don't who did which result that you see. That's why I do not recommend places that are doing multiple surgeries. This becomes a gamble.

What's even more shocking is that these repair patients end up venting their frustrations and writing negative reviews on the repair doctor/clinic after not being satisfied with the "repair" transplant! Lool

Yes it's very sad Rolandos. It's like shooting the messenger when it comes to repairing bad work. As Melvin stated many of the elite surgeons are booking most of the work repairing patient's previous work. As a repair patient myself it personally took six years just to get me to the point of having a scar running along my hairline from one temple to the other. A great video my friend and a very timely one that everyone needs to see before considering a hair transplant.

If this is really just the start of a trend, then I suppose at some point we'll see surgeons focusing entirely on repair cases, and likely charge a hefty premium for it. If there is a market for it of course, which might be small, as the end result will always be less nice, and the folks who got botched generally have a smaller budget.
@MrRolandas16 күн бұрын
It is a very bad situation indeed. In my view, even though hair mills spend more money on marketing than ever, but by taking more high profile patients like youtubers etc. This makes it more obvious of how bad their work is, thus raising awareness of potentially bad transplants. I believe this is a double-edged sword. It will backfire soon enough with more and more influencers getting poor work done. It's already evident with all these fitness influencers.

Repairs are high maintenance, small graft numbers and high risk not to get where they want to. They give the repair clinic far more aggro and grief than the clinics who messed them up. They never name who damaged them but obliterate whoever touches them after. Not worth touching...most of them are mentally diagnosed with depression also and simply not worth it. Sow and reap industry when the forum users have this attack mentality to good clinics who try to assist. Not to mention totally unrealistic expectations and demands and limitations.

i did research but not good enough - also many bad players in the industry. I was deceived by a surgeon who claimed to have had training with dr. bisanga. I figured he must know the principles of a good transplant. In the website of the clinic the surgeon had a picture with Dr Bisanga showing a certificate and naive me was duped into thinking I was going to get a good quality transplant. I understand the issues with these surgeons having to do these repairs - this industry needs to be regulated somehow

I actually recommended Hattingen hair to a friend of mine who's based in Switzerland and had multiple HTs including an initial unsuccessful one and a couple of repairs thereafter. He went to Hattingen hair this summer but Dr. Muresanu refused to operate on him and didn't really explain why. I'm pretty sure the reason behind the refusal was the reluctance to "repair a guy who's still not satisfied after a couple of repairs" and assume all the responsibility. This is totally reasonable and I completely understand the motives. The only strange thing was that Dr. Muresanu gave my friend a very long lecture on relationships and how imperfect modern women are. Lol I guess he felt like the consultation still had to be filled with something.

I've talked to quite a few patients who have been refused surgery by some of the best doctors around too. Not surprisingly after you learn all what's happening there... Expectation management is important. I can symphatise these guys as they now realise where they could have been and still secretly hope they will be a success story, however more often than not it's just a catch up after failed HT... Last part of your comment - lol I'm sure there must have been a context to it :D

Dr. Sever comes across as a super genuine guy who wants to help. Even in this case, charging a small amount for repairs that's not really worth doing, instead of putting prices higher. Other doctors I know are putting a flat fee, usually similar to what they would have earned for that day should they do a normal surgery. It's tough...

@MrRolandas17 күн бұрын
It's not about touch ups, but rather repairing bad work for patients with unreasonable expectations. They're doing a lot of repair work. Some of it takes multiple surgeries to fix. It won't be perfect, but people expect it to be unfortunately.
