Plus if say you got hit by a car and your not awake and they need to do a emergency c section they will just have to do it because it's either losing you and the baby or one of you and they wouldn't just wait around for you to wake up because it be to late. I had 2 emergency c sections they didn't sit around and wait to let me make a decision as to wether I wanted it or not. It's literally to save lives. The first thing the Drs did was prepare me and then went straight into surgery.

My best friend had monthly periods up until her third trimester and had only noticed some weight gain. This is an emergency situation where you don’t need a consent , Implied consent is an assumption of permission to do something that is inferred from an individual's actions rather than explicitly provided. For example, you have a patient with aphasia giving you permission to do IV by her facial expression or by hand expression etc

I had a similar thing happen to me. I was 17 at the time and my period had always been irregular so I never suspected anything. One day I fainted at work from terrible pain, and when I woke up, the doctors told me that the baby was healthy. I was shocked that I had carried a baby girl for 9 months without knowing. Bleeding during pregnancy is not an actual period but can be mistaken for it. I had four "periods" before learning I was pregnant. I had had a ruptured cyst bleed into my tubes and had been told pregnancy was extremely unlikely. I didn't conceive for more than a year with no birth control. I had no morning sickness, no cravings, actually lost weight. I was simply more easily fatigued than normal. Then I felt a small mass in my lower abdomen. Off to the doctor who was certain it was a tumor. Because I was in my 20's, he had to run a pregnancy test before admitting me to the hospital for exploratory surgery. I thought it might be another cyst. My tumor weighed over 8 pounds and went on to earn a doctorate. I was 22 weeks along when diagnosed. Felt movement a bit over a week later. I met a woman in an emergency waiting room who was carrying a baby wrapped in a towel. It was her second and she had not known she was pregnant at all. She was hanging out laundry when she had one huge "stomach cramp" and out plopped a full term baby. She had lost over 60 pounds in the last year because she and her husband wanted another child and they were having trouble conceiving- or so they thought! The idiot receptionist had told her to take a seat and wait despite hearing she had just given birth. And not noticing, I guess, the umbilical cord running from the towel under her skirt! I grabbed a triage nurse and she got mother and baby into a wheelchair and off to L&D. The husband had to be notified to pick up the 4 year old at preschool, get the grandma to help with him, and then get to the hospital. It wasn't until he got there that he learned about the baby. He fainted and grandma nearly did. An ER nurse friend told me they had just had a 13 year old come in with "stomach flu" that was a full term baby. Even after the delivery, the poor child insisted it could not be here because she had never kissed a boy. This was in the 90's. My friend said despite being scrawny, the girl did not look pregnant when she walked in. And then there are cases when the woman is just plain in denial.

Exactly 2 years ago was 26 weeks pregnant complaining about breathing. I was found unconscious in my bed. I woke up a week later intubated. I was asked if my stomach was OK. Not even the first and second pregnancy of the same woman are guaranteed to be similar. Some women’s bellies don’t balloon up, some women get spotting and think it’s their period, some women have extremely irregular periods where it’s normal to miss months at a time or have bc that stops their periods. It’s easy to misinterpret pregnancy symptoms, and some women really don’t get any at all. It’s not always black and white, it’s not always obvious.

In the medical field, this is what we know as called implied consent. If a patient is unresponsive and identity unknown, then the medical staff does everything in their power to keep you alive. My son kicked my daughter up to my ribs so he was a big chunky baby he loves hot food and peanut butter she was smaller i had to get her clothes at toys r us from cabbage patch dolls all the baby clothes was to big on her. I never thought women can not tell being pregnant until you go threw something like the other person went threw. My twins are my mircle babies they changed my life around and grew up. Being a mom is the best thing in the world. I have 3 teenagers and i dont look 34.

@@chyness yes i am still fighting cancer it has gotten worse. Friday my throat closed up from some new meds the dr put me on i stoo taken them. I had 2 strokes back to back last year at age 33. My oldest daughter is telling me i can't leave her i can't die. I always tell my babies where ever mommy goes mommy will always be in 1 place and thats your heart i will always watch over you. She put herself in Rotc my son doesn't know what he wants to do yet and my youngest daughter she 14 she wants to be a chef when she grows up. I tell my babies never stop reaching for your goals in life no matter what life throws at you never stop and once you reached it make a new goal or go more but never give up. I am a retired fire fighter now but i didnt stop going to the gym and trained while doing chemo now i am 100% bed rest i have fell a few time i got back up and tried but dr's said no more trying to walk. My sister had seizures her entire second pregnancy with no record of seizures before and no epilepsy. She also did not have preclampsia! They don't know why it happened they just knew it was a "side effect" of the pregnancy. As soon as she delivered the seizures stopped. The dr actually didn't believe she was having seizures for a while. They just thought she was passing out. Until she had a seizure while attending a court hearing for someone else and had to be transferred to the emergency room from the court house.
