Btw this doesn’t apply to all Saudi women, it’s a pretty fucked up cultural thing that some still practice but most don’t do that. I nearly threw up hearing that. There’s really no way knowing if someone’s a virgin, just take their word for it, I guess🤷🏾‍♀️

If i uad an Asian docter and i was getting a physical.. ngl id laugh my ass of if they said thatand im in the army.. going thro meps for the first time when your young is akward as fuck... after that and going thro basic you dont care anymore.. and the akwardness fades away lol. I mean come on both male and females had to get there asshole looked at briefly both sexes had a male doctor doing it just saying. But i will admit you get ust to it no harm done and quen you know its really for medical reasons and theres really nothing weord about it you dont care anymore.. its only weird if you or the doctor make it weird.

I got one for you that fits in this thread real well. A couple years ago I went to a doctor and they had to draw blood. Sent me to the lab. A very very attractive young lady who was new to drawing blood put the tourniquet on, and attempted to find a vein. She was having a terrible time striking blood. Trying over and over. She eventually got into a position where my fist was between her legs. And I don't mean a little. I was literally right in the baby maker. She finally got a good vein, and attached the vial. And then told me to open my fist. Being aware of where my hand was, I said are you sure? She said yes, and I did. Instantly she realized where my hand was and gasped. To her credit, she kept a straight face, didn't move an inch. And finished the blood draw. Afterwards I said I feel like I should take you out to dinner now or something. She blushed hard and left the room. A month later I came back to the same doctor for another Blood draw. A follow-up. It was the same technician. She walked in the room and immediately recognized me. When she told me to make a fist, I said okay, but should I ask you out to dinner before or after this time. She immediately broke into hard laughter. This caused me to laugh. The two of us quite literally stood there face to face laughing for a good three or four minutes and she was unable to continue. Had to have another lab technician come in and finish. Never seen her again, but it always makes for a good story :-)

When I was 17 years old, I was at a clinic for eating disorder recovery and we had to get our vitals checked every morning. I remember there was this cute male nurse that worked there a couple days per week and one day when he took my temperature, he says, "hmm, your temperature is a little higher than usual." I immediately blurt out, "are you calling me hot." This poor guy. I was so proud of myself for that one, especially considering I was generally a really quiet, shy teenager. A friend of mine was a missionary to Zaire years ago, and they faced a critical shortage of certain surgical instruments. While he was down there with his family, my wife's aunt was retiring from being a surgical nurse, and her hospital was actually moving. Because of this they were dumping a LOT of surgical instruments (I use many for working on electronics and cars), so she had bags of instruments to be tossed, and we both thought my missionary friend might have use for them. However, a number of the items were "speculums" (speculae), and not being familiar with their uh, uses, he and I were chatting about them when his wife walked in. Of course, every adult woman is likely familiar with these things, and not in an "affectionate" way, as they're uncomfortable to women when used. Had we noticed the looks on some women's faces when I dumped these out for him to pick what he wanted to take back (weight limits, etc. meant he couldn't bring everything), we'd have probably done this more discreetly! Sorry, ladies.

Actually, I am a Saudi Arabian girl and I can confirm to you that not every family/legal guardian is like that, these people do irrelevant stuff in the name of "religion" and "traditions", however it is mostly frowned upon to do such exams for they are found stupid and inhumane, our parents trust and we live a good rightful life, I personally would never allow myself to be put in such situation where my integrity is defined by the results of some virginty test.

@@-hmm6214 Well, it's not about it being literally every single family. It's the majority or at least a significant portion. You can put religion and traditions in quotation marks, but that's what it is. That's what the culture is, and it's stupid. The current culture is a logical consequence of the writings they base their culture and even laws on. The western world was pretty similar under Christianity, but the Muslim countries need their own enlightenment to put their outdated beliefs behind them.
@-hmm6214

@@trafalgarlaw8373 Let me clarify, it is not the majority but it is a significant portion (that we still fight to change), just like you said, but let me remind you that Saudi Arabia is an Islamic country, it is not just any country. It is a country based on the Islamic religion so it would make sense for us to use it as our approach and base our laws off of it, but our culture is not based on Islam if anything, it is the exact opposite of it, if you read about our history you would know that the traditions that we are addressing are based off of wrong beliefs that our ancestors have built off of wrong sayings about our religion, there was a time long before the royal family ruled Saudi Arabia where people had such wrong beliefs that affected our culture in the name of Islam, when it was really against the Islamic principles and a group of Sheikhs went around the kingdom to spread the right approach of Islam, they have succeeded to fix the majority, but there were still people who went against it and continued with their wrong principles and that is what made the Islamic culture in the eyes of many people who know nothing of it. I am not going to lie to admit that we are still behind on a couple of things but if you actually see what is happening in our country currently, you would know that we are willing and starting to change the wrong ideas and faults that our ancestors have made, trust me on that.

@Carley Crump I'm a nurse(LPN) and I can tell you, that it is obligatory for medical professionals to be honest about a patient's medical history, even if a patient weren't aware of a certain condition before. If the doctor wasn't sure that she knew about being intersex then he should've asked "are you aware... Blah blah blah" or set up a different appointment to discuss the situation with his pAtient. The only time it would be even *slightly* okay for the doctor to keep this from his patient was if she was under age and her parents told the doctor before hand not to discuss this with her. There's no excuse, he also should've specified that he was going to reveal some personal information to the students.

Years ago I was working for an ophthalmologist as an assistant! I would call the persons name & take them back to the exam room. Then I would turn on the light box & have them read the letters. I would then tell the person that the doctor would be in shortly & left the room. That particular day the patient was an 85 year old woman. She pretty much could only see the big "E" at the top of the box. I would restock the contact lenses and wait in case the doctor needed my help. He came out of the other exam room & said he would see the man in 6 months. He then opened the exam room for the 85 year old woman! He was always reading the chart as he walked in. I heard him say, Mrs. Smith, I see you can't read anything but the big...." I heard running!! He flung open the door & I got single word sentences!! His face was the color of a fire engine!! "Go!! Go!! In there!! Oh God!!! Go in there & get her!!" I opened the door and seated on the exam table was Mrs. Smith...wearing nothing but a smile!! I said, " No, Mrs. Smith, we need to get you dressed before I have to call an ambulance for the doctor!!" She apparently thought she was at the OB/GYN!! She kept asking me if I knew her due date & then asked why the doctor left without checking on her baby!! She was one of 2 patients dropped off by a nursing home. The driver would leave to take the rest of them to the dentist or heart doctor etc.& then return to get them. The poor doctor was in the supply cabinet. I asked what he was looking for & he said bleach. He was going to wash his eyes out!! Thank goodness the 2 were done & the nursing home driver was there! We told him what happened & he said that she was flashing people in the next lane at traffic lights!! The other girl & I almost fell down laughing!!

Not a doctor, but a story from my perspective: About two years ago I hit my head quite severly which led to a broken cranium and a cerebral hemorrhage. I was about one month in the hospital, and I got a room for my self. I was taken most care of by this one nurse. Amazingly beautiful, and in her early twenties, like myself. She helped me out so much that I sort of got feelings for her, but I didn't dare to say anything when I was coming closer to being moved into rehab as I felt it could be uncomfortable for her. The last day I got to take my first shower, and I had been off the morphine for about two days, so I felt a lot fresher. As I'm packing my stuff to leave she comes in and say "Wow, you look really handsome now that you've recovered a bit". I'm still not thinking straight at this point so all I said was "Yeah, I sure hope so". Dumbass that I was/am. Still think I should've at least gotten her flowers and a thank you for all she did for me.

She was checking where my hips were to line up with the machine, she felt on and around my hips for a good 15-20 seconds. Then she went to the other room to do the scan, her male nurse coworker came in and teased her saying, "Why are you touching yourself?" I could hear the shock and embarrassment in her voice she said, "God, you're such an asshole." And the male nurse said, "But you're going to miss me though." She replied with, "Yes, I will." After she was done, she walked me out, she was professional, but red as a tomato. I told my wife at the time about this and my wife said, "I would be touching myself too."

I went to the doctor to get my throat swabbed because it was very sore. The murse came in shielded as if he was going to war, completely covered in ppe. I was so confused. He nervously lifts the swab to my mouth and stops. He gives a nervous laugh, and I asked him what all the attire was for, and if he was okay (this was way before Covid btw) he explained most of the time he does the swab people throw up on him or gag really badly. Anyways he stuck that thing in deep and kept it there for some time, I did not even flinch or gag a single time. My mistake was looking into his eyes as he did it. I didn’t mean to make it awkward but we locked eyes the whole time. Any skin of his I could see was beaded in sweat, as red as a tomato and he up and left out of the room so fast taking the swab with him. A female nurse came in chuckling, I could just feel it had to do with me. He followed behind her but kept his head down and refused to look at me. She told me she needed to do the swab again. I jokingly asked her where her gag attire was, and she replied, “it looks like I won’t be needing one.” The murse tensed up behind her. It was one of the most funniest things ever. You could slice the awkward air with a knife. I control my gag, it doesn’t control me. If anyone wants to learn to tame it, I recommend tonsil salt washes with a syringe. I do it every night to keep my tonsils clean too. Plus, having control over my gag makes me enjoy giving throat much more 🤪

This happened to me about two years ago. I had gone in to see my doctor, and mentioned to him that I had a mole under one of my breasts that I was worried about, and what I found out was a third nipple under my other breast. He offered to remove them for me, as I wasn't too keen on the idea of having a third nipple at the time, and wanted to be safe rather than sorry in case my mole could have turned out to be cancerous. So I went in about a week later to the hospital, and was brought by him to a room, laid down on a bed and such. Sterilized the area, numbed it, ect. Then, when hes got all of the stuff he needs to remove them together while we were waiting for the areas to become numb, he comes over, (i guess he noticed that I was a bit nervous) ready to start, holding a god damn scalpel in his hand, and he looks at me, smiles, makes his hands start shaking and goes "oh, im a bit nervous too. My hands are shaking!". Like dude, youve been my doctor since i was a kid, and i trust you, but that did NOT help with how nervous I was. It was the first time that i had anything even close to a surgery done on me. I legit wanted to just curl up in a hole and die. Still though, im sad cause he's retiring soon. Gonna miss him.

6:22 that's gotta be some sort of legal violation. I don't see how it is ok for a doctor to inform a patient of something like this by telling several students as if she doesn't even exist in that room. I sure as hell would never willingly go to a doctor with that small of a heart for their patients.

If a rare case presents itself a lot of times doctors will bring in their students or other professionals, but usually students because it’s a learning opportunity. His real mistake was being vague about how many students he was bringing in and why. They have to be upfront about those things, but yeah, things like that do happen.

For the doctor who felt like they reminded the transgender man that he "used to be a woman" and felt bad for it: I'm ftm myself and nobody should feel bad about that, because it happens every day to us (or maybe it's just me.). We usually remind ourselves/ our dysphoria does.
@steelbear2063
@steelbear2063 3 жыл бұрын
Okay, genuine question : why surgery? Why not рsychiatry? Seems like you pay a lot of money to get sliced up without dealing with the actual problem. I mean do FtMs even have working dicks at least? Not even to mention that chromosomes and DNA stay the same. And then there is a matter of perspective, the experience of living as one of two genders.
@nocturnal3427
@nocturnal3427 3 жыл бұрын
@@steelbear2063 huh? the 'actual problem' is that their body doesn't match their gender. you can't condition yourself to change gender. i'm guessing you're a guy? do you think you could be conditioned to be a girl? that's the same feeling a trans guy would feel.
@reyabea
@reyabea 2 жыл бұрын
@@steelbear2063 this is an old comment but hopefully I can help. For your question of why surgery instead of therapy: We don't all get surgery but for those of us that do it helps. Saying it gets us "sliced up without dealing with the actual problem" is a misleading and wrong way of looking at it. Its just surgery, you don't say getting all sliced up for any other surgery. And it does deal with the actual problem, which in this case that the patient doesnt feel comfortable with their body due to dysphoria so they get that fixed. Transitioning socially and medically have both been proven to be effective while conversion therapy has been proven to increase suicide rates. It was an uphill battle to get trans acceptance in medical fields, if conversion therapy were effective and transitioning wasn't, we never would have gotten to the consensus by the APA, WHO, and WPATH and most countries that we should transition instead of conversion therapy. Now that being said, lots of trans people do get therapy, but its not to undo their transness, its to help sort and process emotions and those psychiatrists will help the trans person accept themself. Bottom surgery has pretty decent results so there are trans men with working dicks as you are wondering, they are sterile right now but thats not a huge concern. There really is no need to mention chromosomes and DNA because they dont matter, for all you know your mother could have XY chromosomes but became female due to an androgen insensitivity. Would that change anything about her or her life? no, because you can't see chromosomes so it really doesnt matter.

OMG! The patient who was born intersex. That is literally the worst way to find that out. How did her parents think they could continue hiding that fact?? That would be extremely traumatic to find out that way. I mean it would be bad enough if it was just their gyno. But this poor girl had already been examined by her gyno, then had 5 MORE people feel around her insides. To then find out. I wonder how she coped immediately after, and how she broached the subject with her parents. That's awful. Now, onto the topic of allowing medical students in to your exam. I have had this happen a few times. Some of the time I was completely fine with it. Other times I was hesitant, but thought they need the practice to be able to learn. And a couple of times where I was completely against having a student involved in my care, but said yes anyway because I felt obligated to be a teaching tool. I have never said no, even when I should have.

As a male I am sympathetic with the intrusive internal examinations that women have to suffer. As an adolescent I was accustomed to older female doctors and was uncomfortable with a male doctor examining me. In my thirties our GP surgery employed a young, extremely attractive female doctor, my wife teased me with how attractive this doctor was. Just being in the same room with her I would get an erection. Fortunately, I never had to remove my clothing for her and I guess she was very experienced in dealing with this problem.
