Doctors’ Staff Member Seeks Help for Cluster Headaches

I started getting cluster headaches from the age of 14 or 15... I didn’t know what they were until I got diagnosed in my mid 20s by a neurologist. He prescribed me an anti seizure med, then I took migraine meds as a preventative measure for 1-2 years. Surprisingly my cluster headaches have subsided. My neurologist told me I may get it during major milestones in my life. I get migraines here and there but nothing compared to the clusters. I wish you best of luck and hope you get relief soon!!

I do know that having cluster headaches has increased my pain tolerance. I can break my wrist or bust my tailbone and not even feel it, but the only pain I really experience is whatever is going on in my head during a CH.

It's because the pain is nothing like it I can walk outside in 20 degree weather in a tank top n the pain will overcome that feeling of cold and the sad part is the meds don't work even pain killers

I'm 31. I've had these kind of headaches since I was 19. They will come in the middle of winter and stick around for about 1-2 months.

I get them in spring, for 8 hours.

Why is he using a nasal cannula? That won’t work to abort a cluster headache, he should be using a non-rebreather mask and a 15+ lpm flow rate. Hopefully you guys got him sorted with the correct setup. Cluster headaches are hell.

I suffered with this about four years ago and went to see a brain specialist and he prescribed me a antidepressant drug that i used for about two months and the headaches subsided. I can not recall its name but i think it was (trepiline).He also prescribed me wafels called Maxalt RDP 10 which I consumed on the onset of an attack and it helped with the pain.

amitryptiline????? the year inhad to take that drug along gabapentin which is an anti convulsant i didnt get the headaches!

If the owners of the Channel wouldn't mind... I can provide diagnosis and instant relief for this type of headache and for other types of headaches....with different non conventional medicine approaches, (no chemical treatments)... happy to share expertise with neurologists and researchers to explain what and how this type if headache is being built up.

What sucks is you have to be rich to go see all these doctors. If you make less than 2000'a month and prioritize children and family there is no budget for California doctor hoping. Wonder if this fellow tried pot yet, just cause he is gay does not make him openminded. Pot is vapor and not pill and wont be thrown up, the joy of ch that was not mensioned, or the dizziness like your trying to walk on a beachball.

Is it like the feeling on other sides of your head could be at left or right side but i felt sometimes on my right side like nerves walking and my eyes starts to twitch if that's the word or shake idk. Please let me know
