The Cumulus looks great except for the lack of outsole. I'm thinking about the Noosa Tri 16 for myself though, as I like the lightweight trainers as my daily trainers.

I have both and I prefer the Gel-Cumulus 26 ! It is a gem of a heel to toe transition. I also prefer it over my Nova Blast 4. All three are great shoes but the Gel-Cumulus 26 is unique and have maybe the best transition ... super addictive shoes to use all day and every day. Run long runs, quick, super fast, easy runs and using it for casual etc .

Is the shoe size the same? I tried cumulus 41.5 cm today and is a perfect fit. Which makes me wonder if i will get my toes hurt at the end of a long walk.. i will not run with them.. rather walk a lot

@feedmylenses7239 I use all my Asics shoes at size 9 US (27cm) . The length is the same for all, and the Gel-Nimbus is a tinny wider in the middle foot, so I have to pull the laces a bit more to have the snug fit that I prefer.

@@MiracleWarriors What do you think are the main differences between the Cumulus and Novablast? I want a lighter weight rockered shoe and those are my options right now...
@MiracleWarriors

@@JTD33 hey, I have both , my Gel-Cumulus 26 just hit 260km ran while my NB4 only have 70km ran. I prefer the Gel-Cumulus 26, it is about 5 grams lighter than the NB4 , has a bit of a rocker and the FF Blast plus middlesole is softer than the middlesole in the NB4. The NB 4 is totally different then the last NB that I have used ( NB 1). My Puma Velocity Nitro 3 and the Pegasus 40 ( that I had) were both softer than the Nova Blast 4 ! But after another run it two when I hit 100km with my Asics shoes it should be feeling better for me. The Gel-Cumulus 26 with that rubberized Eva thing makes the transition from geek to toe off such a fanatic feeling that made me addicted to these shoes . It is my favorite between the other Asics shoes I got at this time : Magic Speed 3, Gel-Nimbus 26, Gel-Kayano 31 and the Nova Blast 4 . And the NB 4 is my least favorite, but still gets a score 7.5 out of 10. Both Cumulus and the NV have nice guardrails to help the stability, while the one in the NB4 is higher, providing a bit more stability and almost matching a Gel-Kayano 31 for me in stability. But again, the fun of running, the transition is better even if the rigid magic speed 3 versus the NB4. Maybe it is just me that did not get wowed by these NB4 ... that was the reason I did not want to risk the dull transition and hard feeling middlesole of the SuperBlast... By the way, I'm not training for any race and I just like to run around 60km per week and the Gel-Cumulus 26 is also my favorite from the Asics shoes for my long runs (12-14km) . Another thing, people thinks that the outsole is not good it durable in the Cumulus .... the grip at heart is MUCH better then the one found in the NB4. The Nova might get more durability in the end, but my Cumulus is doing better at ~260km then shoes like a Pegasus 40, Infinity Run 4 for example, rat had more rubber, but they desapeared fat in the forefoot making me slippery in raining days just after ~200km of use. I'm really impressed by this compound... maybe next year the Gel-Nimbus etc em also get the amazing rubberized tech if the Gel-Cumulus 26 to make the super high cushioning from Asics to have even better feelings in comfort ! Good luck.

I tried both shoes in demo runs. I personally liked Cumulus 26 more as a daily trainer. Nimbus felt too much of a shoe aligning with easy/recovery runs. I sink in but do not get a pop back for faster efforts. Cumulus 26 is a lot more versatile shoe. I also demo tested Novablast 4 as well and I feel Novablast 4 is also a clunky shoe very similar to Nimbus 26 now (far from Novablast OG that I loved). But now we have Tri-Noosa 16 which might be preferable overall to Cumulus 26 but I have not tested Tri-Noosa 16.

was going to ask which to choose between cumulus 26 and the novablast 4, but I got my answer when you explained about the durability aspect 😂. Asics should've reduced the midsole stackheight (a 35-27mm for example would've been more than enough for a daily trainer) and add some real outsole rubber, so they can add durability without adding too much weight.

I got the Cumulus and I am severely disappointed, the outsole is REALLY slippery and you lose traction on some surfaces. Add to that a high stack foam it's just asking for a rolled ankle at any moment on wet or slippery surfaces. At this price range people should just call out the lack of an outsole for what it is, a measure to make the shoe wear out to make you buy another pair faster. I had higher expectations from Asiscs

Hey Matt, does the Cumulus work as a more cushioned shoe for recovery runs? For the very first time Im feeling my feet and sheens ask for cushion for the recovery runs and I didnt want to spend the fortune of the nimbus so was wondering if the cumulus 26 could work? (Im used to running in Fila KR6, Hoka Mach 5 and Noosa Tri 13)

Is it just me? I had the Cumulus 25 & it's my 1st Asics shoes. My brain THOUGHT it's a shoes that I'll like yet it ended up...my FEET does NOT like it!😂 1st run in it & it caused me MEGA foot pain...I think it's called "metata something" 😅 I was forced to stop at 7km due to numbness & pain. Also my legs just felt extremely tired. Tried changing the insole to Triumph 20's TPU insole. Felt a bit better, can ran 10km but still that pain will come at 5th or 6th km & my big toes just kept feeling numb! After pushing through 100 kms in it, give up on it & gave it to my sister who will only use it for walking. And due to this BAD experience with my very 1st Asics shoes, I'm kinda SCARED to try another Asics shoes (would LOVE to try another one but not sure which one suits me 😓)

The 25s killed my ankles as the foam is just too soft for me. 26 is better and better than the nimbus as less foam.

So, i want to buy the nimbus online but today i tried the cumulus and my toes where right at the tip of the shoe. A perfect fit which makes me a little worried.. because at the end of the day it might hurt a bit right? Will it be different for the nimbus? I tried a 41.5cm size..
