The Cyberleader in this story is rather a sick sadistic and possibly psychotic individual, I don't think he was fully converted.
@WertyQ5432 жыл бұрын
That’s the way David Wanted it I reckon because the higher the rank the less psychotic emotion was actually drained out of a cyber man Or they had the capabilities of re-establishing some small psychotic emotions
@benwasserman82232 жыл бұрын
I think it’s more like classic Cybermen personally repressed their emotions on top of the cyber augmentations. Whereas the new Cybermen are robotic in demeanor all the way through.
@VillagerMan2006 Жыл бұрын
I like to think the Cyberleader from Revenge is the same individual as the Cyberleader here, hence why he says “We meet again, Doctor” This can be supported further by the fact that when the Cybermen look at the past incarnations of the Doctor, for the 4th Doctor’s the leader says “He defeated US in OUR attempt to destroy Volga” as opposed to when he talks about the 2nd Doctor “..That the Doctor confined the CYBERMEN to their ice tombs on Telos”
@dr.feelgoodmalusphillips2475 Жыл бұрын
@benwasserman8223 It's implied the Cyberleader has a stored hive mind consciousness. So when he's destroyed, his personality and characteristics are transferred when a mook is upgraded to Cyberleader. In Silver Nemesis, he even says to the 7th, "So Doctor, a new appearance? Otherwise, our anticipation of your presence has proved entirely accurate."

Odd that it hasn't been revealed how the Cybermen figured out that the Doctor is a Time Lord and that he travels in a TARDIS, and that he can regenerate, though he didn't tell them about his name in this adventure before they took control of the space freighter. The other times before this adventure he didn't tell them about his ship.

Honestly, these "Cyberneomorph" types of Cybermen were always my least favourite. Partly because of the design or lack thereof below the upper-chassis piece, but also because of how in their debut they were emotionless in name only - in 'Earthshock,' the Cyberleader was just a Darth Vader expy riding off the success of 'Star Wars' and 'The Empire Strikes Back.'

*Time-Flight Episode 1* opens with *Nyssa, holding a pencil and notepad,* (whilst *failing to acknowledge her grief* ) closely shadowing The Doctor, *(doing likewise)* as he operates the console, following him around, verbally confirming with him in a somber tone of voice, as they quietly finishing off the main outstanding chore of *reading-off* all of the outstanding loose-ends that needed to be resolved, whilst *ticking them off* on a *’TO DO’* List; and yet, this had somehow never had occurred to me before now, but - *This is the first time when the TARDIS has a dead human body on the floor, which has to be returned, somehow, to Professor Kyle’s Family, accompanied by at least *some* form of explanation as to what the hell actually HAPPENED to kill their daughter, the PaleoGeologist, somewhere out far into Deep Space --
