See, that's the problem with security guards. Not one of them is told to keep their eye on the precious display, just the hallways leading to it. And what's worse is that the laser grid protecting it doesn't cover the top. Then you've got the easy access roof that anyone with a rope can use to grab it without being noticed. That artifact was just begging to get stolen.

Well no one actually takes any they just look at him with bewilderment. So if that's what happens to you then you're just as weird as the Doctor. If you're just offering people Easter eggs when it's not Easter then that's probably why because non-seasonal gifts are super weird.

Wait. She came in through the roof. So why is she suddenly inside the building once she has the chalice? And really, the police couldn't spot her more quickly, even know she's wearing conspicuous black spy clothing and a very big bag fit for a chalice, not to mention how she frequently makes very un-subtle dashes across the pavement? I know, I know, it's just a tv show, but things like this really take me out of the immersion, and it's a shame because then I can't enjoy it as much.

Psychic paper. It lets people see whatever it is they need to see to convince them the Doctor is there on legit business. Or it just becomes whatever it needs to become in order to get the Doctor through their security measures. In this case, it became an Oyster card. The machine doesn't have a mind to fool, but if the paper can mimic any piece of identification the Doctor happens to need at that time, it's not a stretch to imagine it can turn into a legit looking Oyster card.

I'm fairly sure Planet of the Dead came out first so that's a pretty timey wimey reference :) On a side note the cat dolls are actually Japanese Maneki-neko not Chinese but somehow they became popular enough that they're synonymous with most Chinatown areas.
