EVE Online - Improved Covert Research Facility (Null Sec) Guide

In this guide, I will demonstrate how to run an Improved Sansha Covert Research Facility in EVE Online.
TLDR;
-Warp In
-Burn at the can with a different name from the rest
-Lock and scan all cans while you burn
-Go for the best loot
-Get shot and and exploded on
-Survive because you brought strong tank
-???
-Profit
You can probably do it in a Stratios, just be aware that your armor's explosive resist isn't great. Fix that or go max shields

it's a tengu, but you don't really need that unless you have to have interdiction nullification for null sec. Short answer is go MWD with lots of buffer tank, and you'll be fine

Here's what I presently use, though the bling is not necessary for this purpose. I do usually clear 3 or all 4 cans with this. [Tengu, *All Other Explo, 3/2/18] Inertial Stabilizers II Inertial Stabilizers II Zeugma Integrated Analyzer Corelum C-Type 50MN Microwarpdrive Pith X-Type X-Large Shield Booster Pithum A-Type Adaptive Invulnerability Field Cargo Scanner II Republic Fleet Large Shield Extender Sisters Expanded Probe Launcher Covert Ops Cloaking Device II Medium 'Ditch' Energy Neutralizer Dual 150mm Railgun II Dual 150mm Railgun II Small Energy Neutralizer II Medium Polycarbon Engine Housing II Medium Low Friction Nozzle Joints I Medium Core Defense Field Extender II Tengu Core - Obfuscation Manifold Tengu Defensive - Covert Reconfiguration Tengu Offensive - Magnetic Infusion Basin Tengu Propulsion - Interdiction Nullifier Sisters Core Scanner Probe x80 Javelin M x1000 Poteque 'Prospector' Environmental Analysis EY-1005 x1 Neural Lace 'Blackglass' Net Intrusion 920-40 x1 with these implants + zeugma, you save a midslot and your virus basically becomes invincible. Which means you can hack fast and sloppy. Not necessary, but very worth it if you don't die often. What you absolutely do need is buffer tank, decent resists, and an MWD. I suggest a cargo scanner. You will want to know which cans are best, and overheat your MWD 1 cycle between them. You shouldn't actually need a shield booster at all for this, let alone an XL one. But do note that it has an oversized shield extender. I would not suggest using a medium one.

What is not explained very well is the Rats can and will kill your tengu. I had a pretty good tank and 20 seconds into the rats showing up boom 500million gone. Very disappointing.

lol i was looking for a good guide for these, have forgotten how much damage. Wiki says 12k in whs, less in k space. Apparently explosive damage. Full buffer tanked Strat should do fine. You might wanna do some more guide videos, your competition is bad!

ah, i thought the damage only depended on the level of covert research facility. Like there's tiers, and 'Improved' is the highest? But it's very possible that i'm wrong about that. Strat is probably fine for this if you live nearby, but I don't explore without my interdiction nullification.

i thought the tier of the site was linked to the sec it was in? Maybe it's not, maybe there is also shitty ones in null for example. Do you think sleeper caches are worth their time?

I think that is correct, yes. Like the improved are more likely to spawn in null, the [shit tier] are more likely to spawn in HS. The sleeper caches are hit and miss with isk/hr. But they're fun and you might get lucky.
