This adds so much to my studies of the scriptures. I read the scripture first then watch your video and then go back and read the scripture again with the related content. Thank you Dr. Woodward.

Like the other commenters have said, thank you so much for making and sharing this video, this whole series. I appreciate the line-by-line review, the back story, the cross references, the summary at the end. All of it. I’ve been a faithful and active member of the Church my entire life, one who reads, studies and remembers the scriptures fairly well, and I am learning tons. I am so excited that my kids are getting this level of instruction from their youth. Please keep up the great work! We appreciate you!

I absolutely love this format Brother Woodward, it encompasses a lot of technology to go back and forth and highlight and explain things correlating with the words and intent of the Savior. I am not afraid to speculate that if this technology had been available when the Savior was on the earth he might have used these same tools to teach. Thank you and all of you who created this format and use it. It was inspired.

Thank you so much for the time and effort you put into making these videos. They have helped my understanding more than I can adequately express. This video in particular helped me to see an incredibly real connection between the work God is doing today among his "elect" and the work He did in Old Testament times. I have told so many others about this series of videos ... I hope they are enjoying them as much as I do. Please know that your work does not go unnoticed!

Great video! Loved what you said about the wicked forever punished or perhaps having another chance around. I’ve always kind of wondered about that. Eternity is never ending. Seems there should be another chance somewhere along the line.

Brother Woodward, these videos have become an invaluable resource for us seminary teachers. Is there any way you could make them available the weekend before the sections are covered? There have been more than a few times I would have liked to have shared a clip from them Monday morning in my class, and they weren’t released yet.

Honest question here. If it's Jesus Christ speaking (through Joseph Smith of course), why does He use terms like "mine only begotten"? I'd really like to understand that better, and help my family to, as well. (I understand that God the Father and Jesus Christ are "one" in purpose, yet two different and distinct beings.)

Rachael. I wondered that question myself as I prepared this video. I have no good answer, nor have I ever heard a good response to that. Let me know if you find one ;) ~Scott

I appreciate your discussions of the Doctrine and Covenants. You make it very easy to understand. I have one thing that bothers me, do NOT call the scripture the D and C. That grates on me like nails on a chalkboard or someone taking God’s name in vain. A d and c is an unpleasant surgical procedure . We don’t say the B of M or P of GP.

Mary. We appreciate your feedback. We're not sure where the idea began in the Church that saying "D&C" is somehow inappropriate. It's actually not. Not in the least. If you look in the footnotes of the Doctrine and Covenants-on every page-you'll find dozens of references to the "D&C." It is a very appropriate shorthand term for the Doctrine and Covenants. We can assure you that in our domain-specific usage of the term, our audience always understands it as a reference to the Doctrine and Covenants and never as a reference to the "Dilation and Curettage" surgical procedure you referenced. We believe the reverse is equally true, that in the surgical world, the use of the term "D&C" is never misunderstood to be a reference to the Doctrine and Covenants. The context in which the term is used clearly informs the interpretation in both cases. Also, you'll notice in each video that the full term "Doctrine and Covenants" is always used first, then, occasionally thereafter, "D&C" is sprinkled throughout the video for brevity's sake. This follows the pattern in our church's style guide in which they request that anyone writing about our church refer to it for the FIRST time in their article as "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints." Then they may subsequently refer to it as simply "The Church" throughout the rest of the article for brevity's sake. We hope this helps ease your concern. God bless.

@@DoctrineandCovenantsCentral thank you for your thorough and excellent response to the whole "D&C" thing. Over 50 now so some memories less accurate; however, there was indeed a time we were instructed to refer to the D&C by its "full name". I wish I could recall exactly when and by whom; I believe the late 80s. No doubt however, there's a generation of us who have done our best to always state the name in full. That being said...I am just fine with "D&C". 🙂
