The Urge from St Louis Missouri is the best ska on the planet they were the first ska band I listened to still one of the best live shows I've ever seen I saw them the first time in 1996 opening up for Korn and they stole the show. Receiving the gift of flavor in the following albums are all classics if you haven't heard them go listen now. They didn't just have a one hit all the albums were amazing to me beginning to end they appealed to a much larger audience because of how amazing their live show was I would go to their shows and their would be the first timers becoming super fans right in front of me watching them in the juke joint still one of the greatest memories of my life. There's a few songs from the bands in this documentary that I really like but I love the Urge they aren't cheesy it's just quality music. It really is kind of disappointing that they weren't featured in the documentary because to me they're the best example of that style of music but they were also so much more I know I am a fanboy I'm cool with it

was lucky enough to see the specials in camden then a few years before in kentish town north london , seriously didnt stop skankin dippin and dancing for the whole gig , saw selector. laurel aitken , desmon decker and many more back in the day , the english bands would bring there own heroes over as support artists/ guests, so we all learnt what had influenced our bands like Madness and the beat. age dont matter! this is a great doc , good music doesnt age , it recycles into new but exciting forms. top work everyone!

Funny, I wrote this comment somewhere halfway the documentary...I am trying to indoctrinate my kid with ska as well to pass the candle to love this special kind of happy music and it's special meaning.

Hermoso documental.

Yeah, I’m from Michigan, and the only homegrown or regional ska in the early 90s seemed to be Mustard Plug. I always loved the original first wave, Buster, Toots, Dekker etc..absolutely wild about the Specials

so glad this documentary was made. this was my entire life throughout high school and college from the mid-90s to the mid-2000s. I've probably been to several hundred ska shows and brought so many people with me that were not into this, that were instantly super into it. it just made all my friends happy, and I'm so glad I was a part of it. my tastes have morphed and changed a ton over the years but I will never not love ska music. 🎺📯🎸🎙️📢

Hey, I was there, played with a lot of these bands. I came away feeling that The Slackers were the best of us, made the best music, best songwriting . Hepcat was the coolest, best show. The Aquabats were the most fun. Everyone was really cool.

Not a big fan of 3rd wave, I am more into 2 tone and traditional Ska, but definitely a great documentary

The skatalites and the pie tasters were best I ever saw live. I believe the singer was telling us at the time about being pro prostitution and a thing having to do with humming ‘my little teapot’ that’s all I’m going to say about that lol
