I´m from Buenos Aires, Argentina. And i can´t wait to visit your store again. I've been there twice, last year, March 2012 and in May 1995 it was my first time. i still have those precious records, and the magnet bundle of your store on my refrigerator. Thanks a lot people!

Where I worked in 1980. The store was smaller location at that time, on Nassau Street. Most of the product was kept upstairs and displayed downstairs, so I did not sit around "grading" used vinyl all day (above my pay scale). My back got a workout. I look back fondly on those summers in the attic of PREX (NJ in meltdown). Over 30 years later, I still have hundreds of records in their poly sleeves with the Record Exchange logo in my collection. That was what I usually got paid in (my choice).

First visited in fall 1984 at the Nassau Street location. I was looking for Freddie King records. Seeing this makes me miss NJ.

I am a long time customer and love the Record Exchange. The only thing I do not understand is why in last few years have they written prices and grades on some of the labels of their lower-end LP's. If a record is already VG condition, you don't need to make it VG Minus by writing on the label. Highly unnecessary. Other than that, LOVE THE PLACE! FANTASTIC!

Sorry, we do not carry VHS or any other tape format. Can only assume phone problems...we are friendly folks who don't hang up on people on purpose :)

A few wander through, but we don't specialize in metal. If you're close by, come on in and check us out, but we don't recommend making a trip if that is your main area of interest.

why do you have a rule that the employees of your store are not to chat with the customers?

Great record store. If you are lucky enough to hit a newl-shelved collection in your area of interest, you will be a very happy person. Prices are very reasonable. As for the employees, they ignore me, and I ignore them. The store is really well-laid, so you hardly need them.

@HAPL0GR0UP It might just be me but the many of the employees don't seem friendly and can be kind of snobbish. This is something I've noticed over the years so I don't think I'm off in saying this. I've been shopping there for at least 15 years and never felt the urge to carry on a coversation with anyone. This isen't everyone there mind you, I attribute it to the typical Jersey attitude. It is a good store overall, I'm not there to make friends afterall anyway, lol.
