Crazy turnaround time man! The dog and lady shot was my personal favorite. The documentary work is really interesting especially considering things like wildfires. You can’t stay inside all of the time if you’re homeless after all. We had similarly bad air quality from wildfires in Denver last year or the year before(all blending together), but it looked like blade runner outside!

Blade Runner was the first thing that came to mind when I woke up and looked outside! Speaking on the turnaround - I shot, developed, scanned, edited the video and had it done all within 14 hours. Easy peasy

@@RobbieMaynardCreates holy shit! That’s impressive! Any tips/tricks to doing it so quickly. Editing specifically takes me such a long time

@@tylerhuttosmith I was just motivated to get it done. Plus I had a lot of free time. Usually video editing takes a few weeks on projects

@@RobbieMaynardCreates ah, that makes sense. Well hopefully the turnaround time helps with the algorithm and being topical and whatnot!

I'm closer to nyc and the smoke was a bit thicker. its been wild having no shadows during midday sun because the whole world got a mandatory soft box on it. I've got some photos I took two days ago during the smoke I'm pretty optimistic for. Rolling hills near me with the smoke filling the valleys and a second shot of a baseball field coved in haze. kids were still playing their weekly game and parents cheering. I was hoping to try and replicate the classic photo of our town from a hill that overlooks it but the smoke was too thick to make for an interesting shot by the time I arrived

You gotta send me those pics when you get them. The conditions were wild, I tried to tone down the look in the video because it was just too orange and honestly, it was hard to look at lol

I’m not patient enough to wait in one spot and wait for the photograph. It’s a detriment 🤷‍♂️

Its all subjective and entirely dependent on what you're trying to do. Eventually, some of these images may belong to a bigger project and waiting it out is sometimes worthwhile. I try not to dwell on missed opportunities

I suppose it would be better if the homeless people weren't out there trashing the woodlands and more rural areas outside the city. But then, that would mean the city, and the people that live there, would have to deal with the homeless people more then eh? I mean, being homeless and trashing the space you're in aren't inextricably linked, are they?

In my experience, a lot of the encampments I have seen are usually pretty tidy. Its the outskirts of those locations that tend to get trashed. The blame can be placed all around for why cities allow for such detritus to wash up around the shores.
