Agreed on the Wiper Arm Pivot, I just attended Mecum Kissimmee in FL and many aka “high end car” had the wiper seal painted… and even cheaper plastic wiper arms, they hot to step it up! This car you show is VERY nice! 👍

I agree, there are too many cars that have been messed up during restoration. This car is truly special.

Enjoyed watching the detail on such an original car. Although I'm not a mechanic, someday I might get to politely point out mistakes in someone's restoration in the future. I kid, but this video will be a great resource for someone buying or restoring a challenger. Thanks for taking the time. Very entertaining

Great example! Thanks for the share... This car didn't come with electronic ignition. Should have a 2 prong ballast resistor. That is why it has those "GOOFY" screws. You also mentioned the tan cap on the Prestolite distributor? It should have the OEM Mopar single point style distributor... A wonderful SURVIVOR! Thanks for ALL the documentation. Later, Frank Parks at Mopar Restos in Summerville, Ga. "Have you LOVED your Mopar today!?!

Thanks , I just got more information from the owner . He says his dad changed it out in the 80’s . He’s looking for the original distributor

Nice car! I had a 70 R/T convertible 383 auto. Had a Holley carb instead of the Carter. Put a 440 in it out of a Chrysler 300. That thing was fast for stock engine. Put the 2:93 sure grip out of Chrysler in it,too. 14.2 quarter mile with highway gears. Stayed in second gear almost to the timing lights. Sold it and bought a Plymouth mini van, ouch!

That 383 must have been a fun car. It's always amazing to hear stories of people's past cars!

The intro description says that it is a 383, but the audio and from looking at the block, it looks like a 440. Great video of an awesome car!

Great video Keith! No matter how long you’ve been into Mopars, you always learn something new when you look at a true survivor! Love the color too, at some point I’ve gotten bored seeing high impact E bodies, having seen so many. Of course I’m biased owning an FK5 70 and a GK6 71 Challenger! A couple questions, I noticed a vapor seperator. I didn’t think 383s got them just 440s and hemis? Looked like the fuel tank is new too? Also for the oil fill cap, did 383s get the one with the E and F on the ears, 340s had those, I know hemis and V codes got the cap without the letters. I thought 383s got the one with letters. Interesting on the one nut on the bracket early in the video, I commented on an earlier video of yours I got dinged a point on my T/A at OE judging at MCACN for one nut missing on the bracket on the booster for wire routing, but remembered later I only used one nut based on seeing that on some survivor T/As and AARs I’d seen while researching my project.

@@bradschroeder809 this is a 440 and several of them I’ve seen don’t have the letters on the oil fill cap. This color is a breath of fresh air .

@@moparkeith1 your description at the top says it has a 383 but some details looked 440, so that’s where my confusion came from! The AC hose hides most of the tag so couldn’t see the engine codes there either. Thanks for confirming it’s a U code!

Someone added the electronic ignition box, didn't exist until 72, thats why the fasteners are not correct.

The original ignition system was changed over the years, but we kept the original parts and components as a way to preserve the car's history.
