Thank you. Yes, the older I get, the more friends and family I lose. Many of them suddenly. I sorely wish I had more photos and videos of them all. I have very few photos of my Grandparents on my mothers side, and none of my father's. I have no idea what they looked like or what they were like as people. I don't even have a grave to visit. It is like they were never here at all..

You're welcome, and I'm sorry to hear that. It's a sad reality for many. When I look back at my ancestry there's a lot of blank spaces - a lot of information and people forever lost to time. So many stories that will never be retold. Unfortunately, such holes can't be filled, but future holes can be prevented. Hope you're doing well out there. Best wishes.

This one made me emotional I can't lie. I always think back to my nana and I wish she would've let me take more photos of her. This is why my phone is out constantly. I can catch every silly moment with the people I love so I can look back and re live those moments better. Great video 🥹

Its a tough subject, but its one that needs discussing. The more memories captured and people documented, the better. Thank you for watching!

My little brother never lets me take pictures of him, but sometimes I manage to take a portrait of him and I really like those portraits for just showing him as himself, not posing but most of the time just climbing on stuff and running.

It's photos like that you and your family will one day look back on fondly. And generations from now, your family can see your little brother through the photos you capture. Keep getting those shots!

I've had these thoughts for a few months and actively took photos of family and friends whenever I got the chance. As I typed this it made me laugh as I even took a few photos of the old fellas I know down the allotment. Up pops an allotment. I recently gave one of them a printout of a portrait of his dog. Two weeks later, he lost the dog and told me how grateful he was for the picture as I'd "captured him in his prime", and being elderly they hadn't been the smartphone pictures of the dog types. Photography is an amazing thing.

Those thoughts are thoughts I'm very glad to have had now rather than later. And that's a beautiful story man. I genuinely think the majority of people that take photos, professionally, casually, or anywhere in-between, don't realise the power they have.

Good on you. Great point, well realised. I've found myself in the same rut. Heaps of gear, not using it properly. I'm making a point to change that.

Good man. It's rewarding when you make some real meaningful work, knowing you've done your bit for the history books, or made something that really connects with people.

A poignant piece; I have been working on a personal project of this sort for some time. It really kicked into gear when I failed to document someone in my life before they passed. I was trying, but being separated by several hundred miles made it difficult logistically. And, well that opportunity never materialized. I think about that from time to time, even as my project has stalled.

Sorry to hear that, certainly a fear of mine. Careful not to blame yourself for things outside of your control/influence. Best wishes with your future work!
