Why YOU Should Be A Documentary Photographer

Photography is the greatest tool we have for documenting and immortalising memories, stories, people, life's fleeting moments, and anything else this reality can throw at us.
YOU should be a Documentary Photographer, and in this video I will tell you why and how to get started, be it documenting monumental events, or personal stories. With a brief look at the birth of photography, and some examples of great documentary photographers, if you have so much as the slightest curiosity or interest, let this be the catalyst to your own documentary work.

You were truly an inspiration. With photography lately I try to photograph what I want to remember, such as places that are important to me, or my family members. I sold all the digital equipment to force myself to think about every shot, and I'm really happy with the results. I thank you for the photographers you mentioned, some of them I didn't know and I'm grateful. Obviously I signed up and I hope to be able to see more content of this depth!

Thank you for the kind words. I've got a lot more documentary photography content on the way. I'm just getting into film photography at the moment, partly for the same reasons you mentioned. Restored an old camera (video on the way) and am currently shooting a few rolls in Scotland (video also on the way). Really makes you think more about your images and changes the whole process.
