I want to share part of my story because it's really about the level of mental and emotional abuse that Mica was going through. I married a man that was a Christian... read the Bible and could quote everything out of God's word. His parents were churchgoers, foster parents well known in the small town. But my ex was an abuser, liar, and closet addict. On Sundays he was the holly one. The abuse got to the point where I distanced myself, mentally thought I was crazy. Heck, he convinced people I was. Even and exspeically the church. I needed to get away and out. I was ready to take my life it was so bad. I remember falling on my knees crying out. GOD PLEASE HELP ME. SHOW ME A WAY OUT OR HOW TO STAY BUT NOW BECAUSE I WANT TO DIE!!! As he put his hands on me I finally kicked him out, and it was hell. Shunned from the church, alone, not child support, lied about by my ex his family. Harassed and he even convinced the judge of things that weren't true. I never had any positive Christian to turn to. My kids during visits saw drugs, abuse, were taken out to dig trash/dumpster dive.The local judge was friends with his dad. DFS always at my house for no reason. It made me so crazy paranoid and scared. MICA is a victim and even if she bought a gun it was to protect herself. I strongly get thos vision that can't leave my head. Only because my ex would play with guns and threanted to kill himself in front of my children and I. My vision that won't leave... JP somehow convinced Mica to meet her, and he made her call 911 and threatened her. He held his finger over the trigger and had her convinced he would kill himself. Something doesn't add up. From the waitress, the lack of emotions when at church announcing her death. The restraining order. The hidden friendships with other females. The way he bashed her and so on. So yes, this is a real thing spiritual abuse warfare and JP needs to be held responsible. Also, his ex-wife, the mother of his kids..... please share any and all stories if you have been abused. I married a narcissistic sociopathic control freak who isolated me from friends and family. He loved to manipulate emotions, situations, conversations. Did I mention he was a lawyer? Despite the fact that he earned three times as much money as I did, I had to pay all the household bills except for the mortgage. I suffered deep depression and attempted suicide once while with him. Towards the end of our relationship, I was convinced that if we had had children (thankfully, we did not), he would have killed me and made it look like suicide. Fortunately, I got away. He married my best friend, with whom he was having an affair while we were still married. She was just as bad as he was, so they deserve each other. I made one more suicide attempt after I got away from him, and then, eventually, God cured my depression. Statistically speaking, women seldom use a firearm to kill themselves. I wouldn't be surprised if JP was somehow responsible for Mica's death. I will say this, though: a truly suicidal person will not call a hotline, a doctor, or anyone else. When you're that low, you don't want to talk to someone who will try to talk you out of it. Loved ones of those who have taken their lives, take comfort in knowing that there was absolutely nothing you could have done to stop them. When a person is ready to die, he or she will find a way to make it happen. I failed in my attempts, and I am happy that I did. But at the time, I felt like an even bigger loser because I couldn't even succeed at ending my own pain. That mindset came from the mental and emotional abuse I had suffered during my ill-fated marriage. What I came to understand as time passed, however, was that I hadn't really wanted to die. I wanted to LIVE, and I was not living while I was with him.

Same here mine was a pastor too. My daughter still has to suffer through 50/50 custody and sees him selling drugs and hitting on very young men around town - some recently graduated from her school. Ministers have connections because they know all the sin of a place. Same thing happened to me. Same exact thing. My name has been dragged through the mud and everyone believes a minister. Clearly suicide. She shared in her testimony in Africa that she had tried to shoot herself before, but the gun jammed. She lost everything when they separated… his house, his money, her position at the church (worship leader, women’s ministry leader, Africa missions), all the people who loved her and cared about her were at that church and she was no longer a part of any of it. The pastor/husband was clearly emotionally abusive and a narcissist. His actions motivated her choice, but she made the ultimate decision.

I don't know her reasons (and no one ever will), but she made this choice. He preyed on her difficulties. A typical narcissist who constantly portrayed her as mentally ill to gain power over and and get sympathy from his congregation. He stalked, harassed, and sexually abused her. He posted nude photos online, took her money and car. He constantly fed off of her soul, a classic narcissistic trait, and is playing out the victim still. His lawyer threatens anyone who speaks about him will be sued for defamation but has no problem promoting and protecting him. I will not be silent. Right now there are people trying to take away the right and make women subservient in all aspects of their lives. I refuse to bow down and allow that to happen. Mica was bullied and pushed to the brink of hopelessness. I cannot forget how she must have felt in those last moments. It was revealed that he told his church to PRAY that she break down so she would return to him. That is NOT love! No matter what fake tears he sheds, no matter how much his show is plastered across the media it will fall on deaf ears here. His current girlfriend should take heed and not fall prey to his victimhood, she would be safer bleeding next to a shark. Rest In Peace, dear Mica.

It depends on your state and county with the laws & how fast they process background checks. Ive seen it pass immediately in many states & counties. If you have a clean record it comes back quicker as well.

Do I think she could have asked more questions like what her name was and did she have any children, yes. …as soon as Mica told her she was going to kill her self, you can hear the “Oh my God” in the dispatchers voice. She went into panic mode. She was at a loss for words at the moment. Who are we to sit here and say she could have done a better job? What if she just started doing this job? I recently took the 911 dispatcher test about two weeks ago. It’s much more complicated than people would think. You multitasking at a fast pace.

She was a selfless woman who cared about others so much that she wanted her family to find her body so they wouldn’t be worried about her. You can see that she was in a lot of emotional pain because of his abuse but when she made up her mind, nothing was going to change that trajectory. You can see this in her face when she’s buying that gun. She may have felt some kind of peace in that moment because she finally had control of her own life. When people are in so much pain for such a long time they feel the only relief is in death. Many people who commit this act still make future plans like Mica did. But when they are triggered day by day they will make a split second decision to take their own lives. I don’t think she planned it for days on end, I think she made a decision that day and nothing was going to change her mind. It’s incredibly sad… she may have heard JP was with his new girlfriend that day and that triggered her. Who knows what she was really thinking and feeling at the time. No one but her and God knows. 😢😢😢

Mental illness is one reason why i think there needs to be a waiting period before you can actually take possession of a gun you have purchased. I have a friend who hS battled makor depression for decades. She has never attempted suicide but told me there are times she eishes she were dead. For security, people have told het she should have a gun. She tdme she never wants one in her house because she fears withthr depression that if a gun and ammo WERE in her house that one day, it might be a temptation. I so admire her for realizing that a person with mental illness should NOT have a gun.
