Dec 13- appeared for interview and officer asked 2 or 3 basic questions and approved. Once again, thanks a lot. We prepared our case on our own with your help and some other KZbinrs as well.

If I live with my spouse abroad and he has an interview coming up (In Guatemala) and I live here with him and my joint sponsor is in the US, do I need to make a trip to the US or have my joint sponsor send in the mail the original tax transcript, or can I print out the tax transcript she emailed me? Hello lawyer, I hope you are well. I did the interview at the US embassy in Greece. The green card has not arrived to me even I have already paid the $220 fee. I sent an application to USCIS and they indicated that their records did not have the biometric fingerprints. I already have an appointment for the biometrics. But my question is do I have to go through the immigration process and interview again even though I already did it in Greece? Or will my green card will get printed and send out?

I assume you're talking about a consular interview abroad. Just to clarify, this video is about adjustment of status in the US. Either way the answer to your question is: no, you don't need to send those documents to a foreign country unless the consulate specifically requests those documents.

Are you going to get married in Italy? I suggest scheduling a consultation with me before you get married, because there might be 3 different options available and marrying in Italy might limit your options.

What is best? bring your I 693 form at the interview or attached it to form I 485?

It's the same, but I prefer to bring it to the interview. If the interview takes longer than 2 years to be scheduled, then the I-693 submitted with the I-485 will expire and you'll have to pay a doctor for another I-693, which is a waste of money.

A photocopy or a certified copy? No, you can't use a photocopy. You need an original or certified copy.

The I-130 approval usually states that you should allow 45 days for the case to be transferred to the NVC. However, at the moment it usually only takes 1-2 weeks.

Joint tax returns are not absolutely required, but they are helpful to show that you share your finances. Sometimes the immigrant spouse doesn't have a social security number (yet) which might make it difficult to file taxes jointly.

Hello, Got interview letter today and interview scheduled on Oct 28th and my spouse is in his home country. He can change the tickets and come back before interview but the notice states if travelled within past two weeks can reschedule. My question is we should reschedule or is it ok to attend the interview on the same date?

Rescheduling is very unpredictable. I recommend keeping the appointment and returning for the interview.

Hello sir , I’ve a question: Is having an original marriage certificate mandatory on the day of the interview at the US’s embassy? I’m from Afghanistan and I got married in turkey 🇹🇷 My husband is waiting for his interview date in Ankara and unfortunately we lost our marriage certificate. Since we are foreigners and according turkey’s 🇹🇷 law, we can’t get a new one there’s no anyway. We could get only a document from the civil registration authority of Ankara but as they said there’s no any guarantee whether that document will be accepted by Us’s embassy or not. Your suggestions and thoughts would be really appreciated.

I'm sorry, but you need the original marriage certificate. Sometimes you can succeed with a copy or a letter from the Ankara government explaining why the original marriage certificate is unavailable. You should do everything in your power to get another original birth certificate.

You have to bring an updated tax return for the 2022 tax year, along with any W2/1099 documents. It's best to bring an updated version of everything.

You would not need to mention a US citizen child on part 3 of Form I-864. BUT you would likely include the child in the household size calculation in part 5.
