Hello, Esiri! Thank you for this informative video! Just to clarify for the folks in the comment section. I think you meant that IELTS is an equivalent for a proficiency test, not for TEFL/ TESOL certificate. Because IELTS does not provide the employer with any information on your knowledge of teaching methods and techniques (TESOL/TEFL does). Also, people need to take into consideration the fact that IELTS expires in 2 years and then one needs to take it again. For proficiency test I recommend to take a 90min EFset C2 (free, online) or Cambridge CAE / CPE (offline).

Hi Esiri! frequent viewer of your channel and I just had a question about the pedagogical certificate. I did a bit of research and found a Vietnamese article that states: "Worthy of note, foreign teachers who possess a college degree in English teaching, or have competency in the language with an English teaching certificate, are not required to undertake this course" This sounds like native speakers with tefl certificates are exempt from the pedagogical certificate/course. Have you heard any similar information in the time since you posted this video? Thanks so much, appreciate the effort you put into giving us info about esl teaching in Vietnam!

Yea, they take teacher all year round, buy May, June and July is when there’s massive recruitments going on.
