Dodge Charger - 3.6 V6 Alternator Replacement

Great video! What was the symptoms? Was it due to it not wanting to turn over, trying to start but won't? Is the starter a common problem for the Dodge Charger?

If the alternator is not charging the car is running off your battery, so essentially your battery is slowly dying. So when you turn it off and go to start it again, you wont have enough juice to start, which would seem like a start problem. To figure out if its the starter or alternator, try jump starting the car. If it starts and runs, test the output like the start of this video, if your getting. 13.5 or higher , it is charging and the alternator is good.

Do any of the mounting bolts have nuts on the back side or do they thread into the block/bracket?

They do not have nuts, no. They bolt to the engine.

Maaaan I just went out and bought a floor jack. Thought I was gonna have to really get under there

It's a good investment, I promise. For oil changes brakes or anything really. I wouldn't return if you can afford to keep it.

When I removed the bolts my alternator is still stuck & won’t drop out 😑

At 3:18 you can see a dowel on the alternator, its probably getting held on by that'.

it ended up being the stupid bolt on the bottom, & I couldn't get that same bolt back through when I mounted the new one on either @@hyr0llr

I got my battery tested and it’s bad could the battery and alternator be bad? Or should I just replace the the battery

If yu can start the car test to see if the alternator ia charging with a multimeter. If it is charging, ghen yeah the battery is shot
