this is a brief video explaining how I was able to fix the air conditioner on my 2011 Dodge Charger. I am not a mechanic, however this worked for me.

Coming back by to say that in 2020 this video saved me from dealerships and auto shops trying to make me pay $1700-2400 for all kinds of things to make my air work! Turns out my fuse was melted.. A $5 part did the job! Thank you!

Jared, thank you very much for posting this, my A/C on my 2013 Charger has not been working all summer and I couldn't afford to bring it to a mechanic. I tried your fix in the video last night, and it worked like a charm! I pushed on the A/C fuse and the compressor kicked on, so I pulled the fuse and bent those prongs in, and bang, I have A/C! Thanks again, you saved me a lot of money and I appreciate it!

Thank you so much. I was just fixing to have to take my charger into shop. I went and checked that 10 amp fuse and got my ac working again. Wow dealing with the heat here in south Texas has not been very good all because of a 10 amp fuse being loose

My charger serpentine belt stops spinning when I have the ac turn on. Therefore not charging the battery and so on. Do you think it’ll be a simple fix like this or I need a whole new compressor? Belt spins fine as long as the ac is off

I have a 15 in that spot should I change it? I’m not sure if that’s how it came from factory I bought it from someone
@YoungAmzn22 күн бұрын
It started happening randomly , and I’ve had my car for 4 years. Yea I replaced the fuse too bc I always had to play with the fuse whenever I’m on the road I’d pull over move the fuse a bit (NOT taking it out) just move it slightly and it would kick on but like man I was gonna buy a jumper wire to by pass it but I’m gonna do the little trick you’ve done here, bc when it would kick on it would work for a long time, even like for a whole day or two then next thing you know as I’m driving it compressor would go off or even when I just turnt the car on I would have to go under the good n move it slightly.. it’s getting annoying. I also have a 2012 dodge charger pursuit retired police car

Great vid! I just refilled mine on refrigerant (R-134a) and all vents (not just one) were blowing cold air. I used it the next day, no problem. It got too cold for me. The next day I wanted to use it again, nothin but plain, DRY air. I was confused, why wasn't it blowing cool this time? I did the refilling correct too, closed the cap and everything. So tomorrow I'll check this for a possible, and PERMANENT resolve of this issue. I get home from a common hot day of work, and it sucks that it is seldom working ONCE, instead of working everytime I use it! I hope I wouldn't have to replace that whole clutch thing. Maybe the fuse method might help!
@tr3ynag4ta2 жыл бұрын
Update: when the radiator fan spins, I get cold air back. It looks like I would have to check the motor, that’s my likely issue. NOT the fuse relay, or leaks. Thanks!

Hi. I have opposite problem. My A/C works still. If I do not turn ON , the air is cold, but when I turn ON the A/C itr starts to blow higher, but the same temperature. No one knows what is going on.

I know from experience. It’s the wrong fuse. The connection may have been loose. But use the right size fuse. I used to think those would work both being 10. But it wont for long.

Dude. Must be a minor defect in manufacturing. Same problem on my wife’s 2013 model. Melted the plastic. I guess dc current is same as ac as when you have any loose electrical connection is makes the plug hot and it will melt.

Jared I have a question? I have a 2014 Dodge Charger, and the A/C and heater dont turn on. I already took it in to the mechanic and he cant find the leak anywhere they recharged it last year but it stops working. I dont think mine is that because there was a funky smell coming out from the A/C vent it's like a mold smell. Its frustrating because I want to get it fixed, but my mechanic isn't really finding the root of the problem. I wanted to get your opinion on this.
@cesarsahagun8934 жыл бұрын
I'd suggest to try to find a repair shop in your arew with plenty of good reviews and good ratings. I checked Yelp and found a repair shop with great ratings who offered to diagnose for free. Good luck.

My ac and horn don’t work. I tried repacking the fuse twice but it burns them out as soon as I turn the ac on
@jrhakadad5 жыл бұрын
It sounds like you could have a short in the wiring. Maybe start tracing wires on each of those and see if you can find any damaged wiring.
@richardwalker40154 жыл бұрын
Same here my horn dont work a/c clutch does not move blowing hot air only. My wires are burnt and look damages so I think that's the problem
@khicke5 Жыл бұрын
The security alarm wouldn’t turn off, so the battery was unplugged and plugged in. After a few times of that, the horn, blinkers, brights, and turn signals don’t work. The ac already was broken before that.

Mine is cooling sometimes but then suddenly just blows hot air. I know you are not a mechanic but maybe one of your viewers may know the answer to this problem.
@valentinejrayika83275 жыл бұрын
I just recently got into cars and I've been doing stuff on mine instead of going to a mechanic and I recently decided to fix my AC so here are some things I found out relating to your problem. If there is air blowing but it isn't cooling then your cooling fan might be bad its ingromt of your radiator that's probably why it starts out cold, then when your engine heats up so does the AC
