There is a panel available now that can help so you can drain the oil cooler without removing the panel. Very easy install and i will be using it this weekend. Inexpensive and very useful.

Where can you get this new panel?
@AStanton19666 жыл бұрын
If it were me, I wouldn't bother draining that oil cooler. For the oil that comes out, it's not worth the effort in my opinion. Thanks for making the video; it was interesting.
@setidepp48534 жыл бұрын
In my experience, something like 12 to 15 ounces come out. That's a good amount. Also, you should drain it while the whole system is open, not with the plug and filter installed.

Thanks for the share. Kinda late Q but what size ramp do you have? Was that the 56" or the 67"? If its the 56", did you scrape the lip spoiler on the ramp? Thanks much

Love your plate. How the hell do you get the C7Z parked up against the back wall?

Thank you, and I just backed it up very carefully. The garage is wide, so that is how I am able to back it up in there on an angle.

Process any different from a regular RT? thanks!

Same process, just different weight oil and different size oil filter, and there is no oil cooler to drain like on Hellcats.

Maybe it's me, but was draining the cooler necessary?
@DOOWORKPRODUCTIONS2 жыл бұрын
Yes it is recommended by SRT.
@joshmarauder6 жыл бұрын
is it recommended to drain the oil cooling line also since so little oil comes out?
@DOOWORKPRODUCTIONS6 жыл бұрын
Yes, it is recommended you drain the oil cooler along with whatever amount of oil is in the line. You don’t need to make sure all the old oil is out though, just let it drain until it stops dripping.

I recommend to drain the oil cooler while the system is open (before installing the oil filter and plug). You'll see more oil comes out of it.

"3/4 inch ratchet." lol. Pennzoil? I would only use Amsoil or Royal Purple in my Hellcat. Or, any other high performance engine. I use Royal Purple. That 899 filter is used on many applications. I highly recommend the SRT filter: www.amazon.com/Genuine-Mopar-5038041AA-FILTER/dp/B006T08WXM/ref=sr_1_1_mod_primary_new?dchild=1&keywords=srt+oil+filter&qid=1611635935&sbo=RZvfv%2F%2FHxDF%2BO5021pAnSA%3D%3D&sr=8-1 The SRT filter has a larger media filtration area and higher pressure bypass valve. The 899 is a run-of-the-mill filter manufactured by Purolator, whereas the SRT filter is produced by WIX. They make superior filters. Those absorbant mats are fine if you have a leak. But, they're worthless as a preventative measure as they can blow around if you have the garage door open, they're difficult to move around on, and they are messy after collecting oil/grease. Just find two or three large pieces of corrugated cardboard and duct tape them together. You can find them in 4' x 8' sheets at a local office supply store. The cardboard can lay on your garage floor all of the time to collect any errant leaks, soaks up (small) leaks well, and is much warmer to lay on than the cold garage floor in January. And, when your large cardboard sheet gets full of sand and dirt, you drag it into the yard and flip it over. The Billet Tech can is a cheap knock-off. I highly recommend the UPR catch can. It has high quality quick-connect fittings and it ships with premium Continental rubber hoses. And, when you order the UPR can, I HIGHLY recommend buying the valve cover breather, especially for boosted engines. The UPR breather screws in where your oil fill cap is located. The breather releases crankcase pressure. www.uprproducts.com/dodge-and-ford-screw-in-baffled-billet-one-way-valve-cover-crankcase-breather-kit-upr/
