The Power Nation engine had very high compression for a turbo set up and they only went to (i think) 6psi to stay on pump gas. Wouldn't a lower compression or even a stock engine make as much power or more with more boost? I know a guy that built his own turbo manifold and ran up to 25psi on a stock engine in a 70 Dart daily driver that would get squirrelly from a 60 mph kick down.
@GillWelding Жыл бұрын
Thank you for your comment, if you watch our full video, we have a clip of POWER NATION at the end. Their final run was 11 PSI and they weren't limited by their fuel. They met their goal and pushed no further, this is setup to be a daily driver engine. Great question, PSI vs Static compression will always be a comparison, at the end of the day, if you have the same cylinder pressures driving the piston, you should have similar results. High compression engines tend to have better power throughout the RPM range, where as low compression engines need to wait for their boost range. A typical rule of thumb is for approximately every 14 PSI of boost you will double your N/A HP. If you have 90 HP factory and you add 30 PSI of boost pressure, then you would end up around 273 HP, if your intercooler is big enough. In the end it is best you see what you goals are and build your engine around them.

Looks amazing. Excellent work. Any work with/on the hyper pak intake yet? Do you have plans on doing some MPFI videos? I for one would be quite anxious to see how it’s done. The engine power guys were very scarce with the details on how they did it.
@GillWelding Жыл бұрын
Thank you for your comment, we have converted several of the Aussiespeed Hurricane manifolds, we haven't worked with a "hyper pak" as of yet. We have plans for complete DIY MPFI install videos, that go from stem to stern.

@@GillWelding this is the best news I’ve read all day. Thank you so much! The MS3 is amazing, but the learning curve seems so steep due to all of the intricacies it allows for. The lack of any factory fuel injection to pull parts and info from means a fully customized base/initial tune, is truly daunting to say the least. The way power nation did the cam sensor is really quite cool though. I’ve read where people are getting the cam signal from the fuel pump lobe, another using a factory Jeep sensor, and yet another using a Toyota sensor, but very little info as to whether any of it wound up working or not. Fuel pump lobe had the best info. One of your test mules looks to have a custom crank trigger so I figured you were already on it.

There will be several of our upcoming products, that will standardize Slant Six EFI conversions, this should take most of the guess work out of it for the end user, any other questions can be directly asked to us. Upcoming products will include a trigger wheel kit, cam sensor kit, coil on plug mounts, and more.

Great video. Thoughts on a draw thru on a carb like the recent video put out?
@GillWelding5 ай бұрын
It should work fine, however we recommend EFI for all boosted applications, additionally "draw thru carb setups" have more fuel in the intake piping, when combined with an intercooler a backfire can be extremely dangerous.
