Also, the shop I'm working in is owned by my lifelong good friend Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeerk!! Eerk's Gerg!!! As you can see, it's a pretty active environment! Eric has been working outta here since he could hold a wrench. First learning from his father, then furthering his study through various schoolings and personal ambitions. Maybe learn more on that later. He has accomplished much, however!! I'm proud to know him. Fantastic human in my opinion! He has never turned me away in a time of need. I hope he can say the same about me. He has never needed much help tho.. lol! He's a talented figure outer...er. I've given him a hand a time or two when I've been in town. Brother code!! He's like family. Anyway, he is my goto guy when it comes to anything rust related! He was kind enough to help me with this heap impromptu, after working all day. Gave me the tires!! Wouldn't take my money.. Set me up with everything I needed, including a place to park the ol'rag. Departed shortly after, due to prior engagements. This video wouldn't be possible without ya bub! Thank ya my friend!! Anyway, we do pretty good work when we put our heads together, as you'll see in the future. He kept me busy over the winter. We did a couple of interesting projects. You see, I'm no slouch myself. I don't like to toot my own horn tho. I always end up hitting a tree when I do. 😉 There are a lots of trees out there too. Expect to struggle... that's what I always say. Look forward to it..😊 I ain't afraid to dig in tho. We'll make it work... attitude determines altitude. Anywho, this project was unexpected to say the least. Lots of head scratching and figuring moments throughout.. She has been a fighter! But yeah, thanks again Eric!

New here, drawn in as I'm also a former DSM -victim- owner, and was curious how you too got -screwed- rewarded. Confession: i jumped blindly forward in the video, to 11:38 and paid for it, by needing to now clean coffee off my monitor, keyboard, grand-dog, and eyebrows. I said to myself, _"Self, there's a hole in the frame. Also, that man has a can of something, surely it's penetrati-"_ Then, the man sprayed that hole, *with paint.* Goodbye, delicious dirty bean juice... I knew then I found another like me, which I should've already known: he's working on a DSM.

🤣👍You gotta have a sense of humor to even approach this thing. But yeah, she's been pure sorrow so far. That's why I named her what I did. 5:10 ...Thanks for making me laugh! Yeah, I've been scratch my head a bit. I haven't worked in the shop in a while and you can tell. 🤣

Well atleast it's one of the gas powered ones. Don't remember ever having transmission problems aside from the shifter bushing so I can't help ya much there. The little diesel ones were actually a really neat rig, but it was far indestructible unfortunately. They actually had the HP to keep up with all the mini gas trucks of it's time while probably even outrunning alot of em. But parts are non existent now, even the oil filter, and the cranks and rods had tendency to separate. I put one back together and once for the fun of it, bumped it up to 18lbs of boost and the fuel to match, roast the tires all the way to 4th gear, but couldn't keep a head gasket in it so I turned it back down.

Thanks Luke! Lol, I'm gonna do something very unique with this one. Gonna have to tighten up the foundation a bit first. Hopefully be able to reach 88 miles an hour without it breaking in half. 🤣✌️

I've got the same tranny in mine. She went into all the gears fine but all gears but 4th was kinda whiny. I took it to a recommended tranny shop and they changed out the main input bearing. The rest of it looked OK. Lemme know if you have any other questions about these sweet pickups. They are worth putting some time and money into because they just don't make em like these anymore. Sometimes i call mine a poor man's Toyota... used Toyota pickups cost a fortune around here even if they're worn out. These older Mitsubishis are as good as the Toyotas... and I prefer the torsion arm front suspension over what the Toyotas did.

Hell yeah Bill! They're pretty uniquely sweet. I'm sure we'll be talking in the future. Thanks for the info!

Not mechanical at all, but the videos are getting cleaner. Keep at it! If I could offer perspective, add some shop-talk, down time talking shit. Just for flavor. Good b-roll, too.

Thanks Nate!! I appreciate the input! Yeah, I'm still playing with it.. The next video takes place after a holiday cookout the following spring. Let's just say it was a Sunday and the shop was closed. 😉 That video is pretty much all b-roll and shop talk! Things will be learnt tho!! Hopefully you dig it! I explore the world of weber carburetors as well. Thanks for watchin' bub! 👍
