This commercial is an acid trip gone wrong, meets radio shack, meets the synthesizer era....man do I miss the 80's.

These commercials are so cool. Where else can you see a brand new 1984 Dodge Daytona Turbo, brand new, fully stock?

Jeff Hanneman All 146 HP . Sad thing is you don’t see it in these cars anymore. The build quality they were all Junk . Daytona was one of my favorite cars in the 80s.

@@georgeharleydavidsonrider156 easy way to kill the 146 HP was a Mopar Performance computer for $150. Get the HP to around 165 and torque to 180 ft lbs or so. With that 2600 lb Daytona you’d have a quick car for the time. I still own an ‘85 Turbo- you’re correct about the build quality- not so much on the interior but the seams behind the strut towers and other body seams. I’ve repaired mine and it’s always garaged. Love the ‘84-‘86’ look and they still look great- the ‘87-‘93 I don’t think have aged as well.

They actually check with Harrison Ford reps to see if they could hire him for the spot. He wanted way too much money for them.

That was Dodge's way of saying. "Well boys we can't make 1968 HEMI R/T's for you like in your teens, the EPA or NHTSA won't let us do that but we can make this for you in your late 30's."

They could have put a 318 In it instead of having Mitsubishi put a piece of crap FWD V6 in it
@kevinkiley6503
@kevinkiley6503 3 жыл бұрын
@@gunslinger-bs8ck actually the 2.2 turbo Chrysler built engine was used. Yeah, the V6 Mitsubishi was used later on, but the 2.2/2.5 Mopar engines are the fun ones. And the 2.2 turbo would walk all over a 1980’s 318

Ésos sí eran buenos comerciales de autos, no como ahora, antes al ver ésa publicidad deseabas el auto, inspiraba deseo, casi como algo prohibido, no cabe duda de que los 80's era la época de oro.

Mines caught fire! And I walked away from it and never looked back. Didn't care if it was stolen, towed or impounded, I just completely walked away. This car shamed beyond words time after time lol
