I'm gonna have even more fun, as my truck came from the factory with no bed mounts. But I like that idea of the fifth wheel, I wonder if its supposed to be dead center over the axle or slightly forward of it ( out of curiosity, as I'll probably buy the same kit, )

It is supposed to be forward, how much, I’m not sure, I SWAGed mine. It was almost not far enough. If you know someone with a newer truck that has one from the factory you could measure the forward offset.

What is the wall thickness on the tubing you are using?

1/8” for all of the box tubing with the exception of the sub frame cross members for the fifth wheel plate we used 3/16 and about half a spool of wire.
