Put a jack under the ball joint to apply pressure and then u can remove the nut without the ball spinning.

Yes, I have this project coming up this week. My 150k 14 TC has crunching noise at slow speeds, slight steering wobble at driving speed and outer tire wear. Hopefully this repair covers all the problems.

I have a 2016. Very low mileage 70,000km. It feels like on ice when changing lanes on the highway. I suspect it is the lower control arm. Thank you for this video now I know what I’m in for. James for NS.

Thank you. I couldn't figure out the easiest way to get that bolt out- lift the motor a tad! Worked great.

I just went trough the same thing. On one side I used a pickle and a BFH which did the deed. On the driver side I used a $20 harbor freight - 3/4" Ball Joint Separator" to get the control arm off.
@416diy
@416diy 3 жыл бұрын
Sometimes 1 pickle fork isn’t enough depending on its size, good to have a separator as well. If you don’t, you can jam 2 pickle forks in there and that’ll usually do the trick.

Those damn sway bar links, I wasted a couple of hours trying to remove and ended up cutting off with a grinder/metal cutting blade in only a few few mins!

Such a pain getting those ones off, but worth it to make the job easier. If it were my own vehicle, I would've just kept going and replaced them.

Instead of using that a handsaw to remove the bolt try getting yourself one of those high-speed AKA wannabe Dremel drills from Menards for thirty bucks and get the snake attachment and at the end of that you get one of those easy attachment cut-off discs you should be able to get it up in there and cut right through that bolt it might be a little bit difficult to maneuver it but it's thin enough you might be able to flex it upwards so then you can face it downwards and then go right into the bolt sideways thanks for making the video after watching all that work also considering my Dodge Grand Caravan is Rusty I think I'm just going to let the mechanics do this one because my rotator cuffs and carpal tunnel even though I had surgery in the carpal tunnel I think that my hands on my shoulders white end up giving out or the arthritis in my hips by sitting on the ground for so long. It sucks getting old fellas especially when you have arthritis and worn-down rotator cuffs enjoy the youths why you can!
