Thank you. I was able to swap out a couple bad injectors, replace my spark plugs that were in horrible shape af 75K miles and clean my dirty throttle body. Absolute win. Also want to add that it's easier to remove the part of the intake behind the throttle body if you remove the throttle body first.

Beauty video guys ! Might have to replace the fuel injector on my wife's Cherokee Trailhawk and your video made it much more clear on what has to be done to get that fuel injector out. Well done ! Some advice to others though, it might be a good idea to remove the fuel pump fuse or relay and let the vehicle starve of fuel, that may relieve any possible fuel pressure, and may not leave as much fuel in the rails.

Thank you so much for this video ! There isn’t a lot of videos about the dodge journey car maintenance! First time working on an SUV type vehicle and it looked intimidating at first but after seeing I had the tools to do it. I attempted to do it while watching this step by step . I found that I didn’t need to remove the throttle body, & from there I just followed the steps ! I decided to change all the injectors as I did get a code p0202. Once I completed the job I went on a test drive and it was prefect ! No check engine light or anything and it actually felt like it drove better.

You can remove disconnect the fuel pump and try to start the engine a few times to purge the fuel lines before you disconnect the battery and start taking the intake apart.

Remove the lower intake first then remove the injectors so that fuel doesn’t drop into the slot between the oil cooler and block possibly destroying the oil cooler and O-rings.

Hello HOPING all is well with you and life is treating you good as you are treating life good, also. WAS blessed by God through my 21 yr old son to help me purchase used 2010 Dodge Journey with just under 80,000 miles. HOMELESS for 15 yrs, 2-3 yrs with vehicle in beginning then on foot for 10 yrs & bicycle for past 3 yrs until last month obtained vehicle with help from my son. HOWEVER, being used vehicle is full of problems in need of repair n maintenance already oil change, needs tune up, now experiencing knocking sound when turn wheel left n right as well as after engine oil change noticed gas is being used quickly as if leaking or something.

There is no need to undo the hoses from the resivior and you don't have to remove the throttle body it's connected to the upper intake

After examining all necessary information and tools aside, I would properly consider taking a few shop towels or rags and put them in between the cracks and ignition coil areas so as to soak up as much of the slightly spilling fuel rail and after discarding of those rags with keeping in mind having extra shop towels or rags so as to cover or wrap around the preexisting dirty ones and after all said and done I’d thoroughly clean and sanitize the area with a rag and toothbrush if there’s any hard to get spots or any build up whatsoever , hopefully that helps , as I’m embarking on this project in a couple days as well!

2010 dodge journey v6 Had the code p0302 for cylinder 2 so i replaced all spark plugs and coil pack for #2 and i still have same code just for that #2 cylinder. Ima change the fuel injector to see if it clears

Same problem here on cylinder #3 (probably the worst place). Check engine light and motor shaking like crazy. Had the sparkplugs and the coils changed but still have the problem. One of my friends is a mechanic, he temporarily corrected the problem by knocking somehow on (or in the vicinity) of the injector (without disassembling anything), he told me it is common for those to get stuck. Unfortunately, that lasted only a few days and the symptoms reappeared. I am wondering if some injector cleaner could be used until I get it replaced.

You do not have to remove the bottom bolts from the front bracket just loosen the bottom bolts and move the bracket over

Installed wrong. Stalling under accelerating means too much fuel and not enough air. Take it out and redo. Also get good injectors. I personally would rather pay a little more snd get them local over cheap Amazon or eBay.

Question why do they have to be replaced. My problem is on a 2011 charger 3.6, 3 of the 6 are leaking were they joint with the rail. And I don't know if it could be the injectors or the rail it self, Just so you know I have the O rings replace already

They would have to be replaced if they are stuck closed or stuck open. If you can visibly see a fuel leak then it’s your orings. Did you use the correct orings? Is your car running rich or lean? If they are leaking at the tail then that cylinder would be running lean from the fuel coming out before the cylinder

I've had a P0171 and P0300 code on the engine for a while now, going on 2 months. It's been in and out of the shop and nobody can seem to find the problem. I've had the catalytic converter replaced after the dealer said that was the problem. The o2 bank 1 sensors have also been replaced. It's also cleared a vacuum leak test showing no leaks. A local AutoZone told me it was the fuel pump that was bad, but my dealer affirms that it isn't the fuel pump because I've been driving it around all this time. My fuel mileage has gone down the drain though in the meantime. The car normally gets 17-19mpg in the city and in the past 2 months it has dropped down to 10-13mpg. Any ideas?

Got the P0300 code myself - everywhere I have looked, seems to state that it's Spark plug or fuel injector related. Could also be related to the EGR valve getting stuck open, but not going to lean to that option yet. Sparks plugs are fairly cheap to change, so that's my first go to. They only need to be changed on the 3.6L Pentastar every 100k miles, but most vehicles are about 30k. Considering I am over 100k on my 2011 - I would assume the previous owner never changed them out. Injectors can be cleaned too if you constantly run cheaper fuels without some sort of fuel line detergents that are added. They get gunked up over time.

G ard - I went ahead and broke it all down and changed the spark plugs out. Cheapest option. I also purchased a Bluetooth code reader that I leave plugged into my car to monitor when a code is thrown and so I could reset them if necessary. After the initial few runs, the car was still a bit rough idling, but it smoother out since. I also used some Red Line Fuel Injector cleaner mixed with a fresh tank of gas. So far I haven’t had any issues. However, I do plan to replace the injectors soon as I believe those will ultimately be the root cause here.

I’ve been told by a lot of people the 3.6 really sucks and you should probably stick with the 2.4. I personally wish I got the 2.4 I’ve had nothing but problems with the 3.6 two trips to the garage and 2,000 dollars later and it’s having the same problem

I hate those little red locks. He is not kidding when he says to have two hands on them when you remove them completely. I popped one up one handed and I lost it. And you will want to remove them completely because the locks get stuck and it is better to completely remove them so you dont have a seizure when you spend half an hour trying to remove just one or worse, break one.

You read your OBD2 codes. Which ever cylinder misfire you have, that’s the cylinder you work on. Because getting to the spark plugs in this car requires to remove so much, you do the spark plug, the coil, and then the injector at the same time . 9 out 10, it’s going to be the spark or the coil.

If you're having idling problems, try cleaning up your throttle body with some throttle body cleaner. Easy and cheap to do, and might fix the issue before you start spending big money.

It could be so many things like low fuel pressure, cam or crank sensor failure, bad injectors, etc You can at a fuel injector cleaner to your tank that my help plus is chep if no no results. You have to wait it eventually will send you a code this new cars are very sensitive
