Yeah. 70/71 ain’t happening again. The old E body challenger’s/cuda’s are worth what they’re worth because they were 4 year run only, and only two of those years saw the most desirable versions being produced. Most weren’t purchased as collectibles. They got used for their intended purpose. These have consistently rolled out of Canada by the truckload for 15 years. Even the later Hellcats had almost a decade run. I don’t even think the Demons will see much appreciation in value. Too few people had the means to experience the Demon for it to leave any sort of significant impression, and it’s not a car thats heavily referenced in pop culture. Most are put away. The ones that will probably be worth a good amount are those Direct Connection Super Stock cars that only exist in handfuls. Factory race cars always hold value.

There is some future for these cars. A majority are poorly optioned V6's. A majority regardless of drive train are abused. Most I see at auction are disasters. Beat to death, poorly repaired and generally treated like trash. Of course most vehicles are treated like that but these get a special dose of abuse. As they age they will also become increasingly difficult to maintain. The electronics are basically a death sentence. If I had to make a random guess I'd bet less than 10% of the hemi cars will still exist in 10 years... That *might* prop up some value.

So glad I waited till the very last year model. I gladly paid MSRP. Got it when there were plenty of choices on the lots so I got exactly the color and options I wanted. Didn’t have to settle for something just because it’s all they had. I will keep it stock. I will pay it off. I will own it outright. It’s garage kept. PPF with ceramic coating. Never driven in the rain. Never driven at night. I intend on keeping the mileage very low. I only drive it on clear sunny weekends and usually driven to car shows. There are plenty of people that have never seen a Hellcat in person, and are excited to see mine on display. A year later I still get excited when I take it for a spin. It’s a treat when I drive it since it’s not a daily driver. Love that new car smell even a year later. I will keep it for as long as I am alive and will pass it on after I die. They wanted like 41.5 but were looking to move it and I was willing to walk (or was I?) Anyway, right time, right place and brand new - not a mark, complete with new car smell and everything. Spend your money on a Plymouth Superbird if you want a classic Dodge product. There are too many of the new Challengers and Chargers to really be investments (stupid badges or not). Maybe in the long term (if you keep them pristine in a plastic bubble), but nobody can really tell what is going to happen a couple of decades from now.

I was one of the lucky ones when I bought my 2019 Redeye!! In 2019 The Dodge dealer was offering 6k off MSRP. They weren't going to give me a good trade in value for my BMW X5 so I told them I was going to sell the BMW on my own. A couple weeks later Dodge offered $10 off per horsepower $7,970 for a Redeye. So with the dealer 6k off plus the $7970 Dodge was offering I got my Redeye $13,970 off sticker. The sticker was 92k, I got mine for 78k plus tax and license!!!

You can actually get them for less than advertised price now, the COVID markup days are long gone.

I watch another channel where Sales Managers are getting calls from people who have not learned their lesson. In one case, the customer called to trade in his 2020, for a 2019 Raptor. He was $35,000 and change upside down in his car and was at a 17.8% interest rate, $1700 a month payment, with $5k down. He actually thought with a 608 credit score, he’d get a deal. It's still a Dodge. In five years you'll have a car with bubbling paint, leaky weather stripping and it will spend six weeks in the shop because if you use the left turnsignal when it's less than 46 degrees Fahrenheit the car dies and it sounds like mumbled gypsy curses coming from the glove box. And oh yeah, that part you need is on "engineering review" so that six weeks has magically become the entire summer. I somehow own three Chrysler products and if two of those didn't have the forever factory warranty I'd have zero

This. Great reminder. I've been focusing on cars in CARB states now. At least based on my asking, cars in the other states always seem to be non CA-emissions compliant. Why did Dodge this is odd. More odd is the So. Cal. dealer I called advertising a '22 Challenger HC with Carfax history showing FL and VA history. Sure enough it's not CA compliant.

@raymco5 DODGE DIDN'T "DO THIS;" CALIFORNIA DID. Your State CANNOT continue to dictate what the other 49 can do or have. It's about time corporations learned this.
@raymco52 ай бұрын
@@mrfuriouser I hear and understand your ire. California, however, does not 'dictate' what other states adopt for their vehicle emissions. CARB was created in the '60s (by then Governor Ronald Reagan by the way) to combat L.A.'s smog problem and over the years other states have decided to adopt the CARB standard. So instead maybe go be angry, er, furious, at the increasing number of states (maybe your state too?) who have chosen to be in the CARB club. Be much simpler to have one emissions standard for all 50 states of course. In the meantime and maybe there's an added cost or complexity but not sure why Dodge and other OEMs (not just picking on Dodge) don't just make all their cars CARB compliant.
