Still own a silver one, bought it brand new in 2003... One day I will restore it to it's former glory. These still aren't bad looking cars.

@Cory Scopis Lool it has over 200k miles on it, a head gasket leak, body rust, water leaks in the body I wasn't aware of, and the paint is pretty trashed even though I washed it once per week and waxed twice per year. Clearcoat fail is a bitch.
@dr.bunterhidenbrobruh55023 жыл бұрын
@Cory Scopis Thanks. It's actually getting close to 220k. Still original motor and stock turbo, still spiking at 18 psi of boost (holds 15-16 psi), if you can believe that shit! Lol.

@@dr.bunterhidenbrobruh5502 lol I can mine is doing the same except never had any major issues with mine. Just basic maintenance except for my differential went out last month
@dr.bunterhidenbrobruh55023 жыл бұрын
@@anthonynormart4873 mine is an 03 so no limited slip on mine. Only "major" issue I had was with the transmission, a trouble spot on the early models. It kept grinding when shifting into 3rd. Only 70k miles were on the car and clutch only had 10k. My friend is a Dodge dealership mechanic and told me to drain all the trans fluid and drive it around until it gets really loud. I did that and drove it for a month, couldn't kill it. I finally dropped it off one day. I had the top shelf extended warranty and had the trans replaced for free with 0 deductible and no questions asked. At the same time, I replaced the clutch again with a better one and replaced the shifter bushings with stiff ones. Since then, I've put 150k on it and the shift action still feels like a new car. Crisp and defined (or as much so as you can get in a Dodge SRT-4 😂). I've replaced the clutch twice since then though. I can only seem to get 60k miles on the stock clutches before they start crapping out. Otherwise, I've replaced the alternator, the radiator, the fuel pump, and some suspension and wear items. Believe it or not, the original stock fog light bulbs and license plate light bulb are still working! 😳

Nothing better then wrong wheel drive and 300+ hp / lb ft tq. And before you hate on me, I owned a 2005 SRT-4 (sold with 60k), 2008 Caliber SRT-4 (sold with 92k, way better then the Neon) and a 2018 Charger SRT (sold with 9k). I do miss that sound though.
@joshAKAtheman3 жыл бұрын
in what ways was the caliber better than the neon
@msanborn083 жыл бұрын
Here are a few. 1. Better handling, not to surprising considering it was a much newer car. 2. Much more comfortable interior / seats. The viper seats are cool and all, until you drive in them on long road trips. 3. Way more room cuz it was a hatchback of course and not that I need a 4. You can roll the rear windows down from the drivers seat with out breaking your arm or swerving into oncoming traffic while driving (only people who owned one can relate to this one)..

This is just a guess but I'll assume he lives in an area that gets snow and salts the roads. The tips probably rusted off, saw it happen to my buddies car. Funny thing as someone else mentioned mufflers weren't stock on the car, haha, so it sounds the exact same.
