Dodge Ramcharger Rusty Restoration Tribute to my Cousin

My cousin bought this 1976 Dodge Ramcharger in 2004 and we looked at it together before he purchased it. He took it offroad at Uwharrie National Forest in 2007 and had a blast! Ivan had hopes to restore and modify this truck but never got around to it. After he passed away I purchased the truck from my Aunt and Uncle. The task ahead of me was large but many people helped me restore this truck. I can't thank everyone enough for all the support and help they provided.

Love that truck!! I'm currently restoring "Chuck" my 1976 Ramcharger. He's very similar to yours, with a 318 but he's got a 4spd on the floor. It's wild seeing some of the things that you've done to yours knowing I've done the same. Replacing the turn signal switch really hit home since I've replaced Chuck's twice already. They just keep breaking for some reason. I have the same Softopper on mine as well. And I just did some camping at Silver Lake dunes where I just camped in the back for four days....Loved it. Keep up the good work on that truck.

Wow we are getting ready to restore a 79 we just purchased. We are looking to use for camping and small road trips I just bought an original first gen ramcharger roll bar. Putting the vintage receiver hitch on and doing some patch panels now. I want to paint it the creamsicle color but none of the top colors look as nice as they do on the yellow. Ours is a 318 truck but I've got a 4bt to put in should the 318 quit

Those high back buckets are like hens teeth I've gotta find a set for ours. We have the typ low back but the buckles from the seat vinyl pieces are there at least. Maybe an upholstery shop can reuse ours to put on the high backs of I find them as I'm envisioning those chrome " buckle " pieces may be hard to find

These are the factory 15"x8" steel wheels with redline poverty caps.

I have a 1984 ramcharger with the 5.2 318 and im thinking about motor swapping. Any suggestions on a motor for this or is it worth it to just rebuild the old one? Very nice job as well 👏 👍 on the restoration guys!

Thank you! You could rebuild the 318 and put some bolt on performance parts on it. Also, a comp cam would sound good and add some horsepower! You could also get a crate 5.9 magnum 360.

Who did the repair and clean out on the gas tank ???

A local radiator shop cleaned the gas tank out, welded a patch on it, sealed the inside and painted it.

We are in that process now...I'm bummed because if we do orange it should have a white top so likely I'll buy the tan one install the hardware and get a white one made. Itll be worth the coin
