After seeing a youtuber's video on how Dissidia NT "fixes" Dissidia Duodecim's balancing issues (mostly about the removal of the bravery-to-HP function, and the HP spamming) And even though the video has some points, however, it tries to cover up the undeniable fact that NT has downgraded. NT has fixed bravery attacks and has limited the (total) number of HP attacks, including to using only one HP attack (excluding Vaan). This eliminates a player's combo customization to a certain degree- if not, mostly. Next is the "HP Attack spamming". Oh boy, like that's ever going to be balanced. In just about every PvP game in existence, there will players who will abuse a specific exploitable mechanic to win battles, and Dissidia NT is no exception to that. There will always be players who will be spamming HP attacks, and NT's community is far worse due to its co-operative system (and I'll get to that). Remember back when you hit players to the wall via bravery or HP attack, they take extra damage? Well, in NT, that's not a thing anymore. Instead, when you get squished onto a wall, you are stuck in that wall for 2 seconds, left completely defenseless against a player's bravery attack or HP attack (and they will most likely spam that tactic). Slam the enemy to the wall --> HP Attack --> Win. Easily one of the most exploitable and overused strategies in the game. However, if you are already slammed into a wall, and that enemy player combos you with a bravery attack and get slammed into the wall again, you will have invincibility frames (but not a lot of players will be so gracious to waste their chance to use an HP attack on you when you are on the wall the first time). Another system that is easily detestable and can consider an exploit is the chargeable HP attacks (which you can hold the square button up to 3.5 seconds). It's easy. Simply equip a chargeable HP move, smack an enemy into the wall, and the proceed to toy with their feelings and watch them desperately try to dodge, realizing you held the HP attack long enough so you could hit them right after they dodge (since the dodge function has a 1-second cool-down time). Or, you could use Enfeeble and do the same exact thing. It takes no genius to figure out how unbalanced it is to have those HP attacks in the first place. If anyone is accustomed to Dissidia NT, you probably have played long enough to know about the EX Skill system. And two popular EX Skills many players use in their matches are: Enfeeble and Bindga. Lord knows many players use those two skills. I mean, it's perfect as an exploit. If the enemy team is one point away from losing, and a certain player is low on HP, chances are that the whole team will gang up on that weakened player for that sweet, sweet kill. And you, the player of the winning team, just-so-happen to have Enfeeble and Bindga on you (oh, so lucky). You can simply use Enfeeble to temporarily disable the enemy from dashing (making that player much easier to hit with HP attacks) (plus, due to the sluggish and floaty Dodge system, the player can't dodge 3 incoming HP attacks, making it inevitable for the player to take the attack). Or, you can hit that player with a Bindga (assuming it hits). Bindga, when it hits, can completely immobilize the player from all movement for 3 seconds. This gives any opposition the perfect chance to get confident and use an HP attack. The victim can only defend itself by using an HP attack (depending on the HP attack), and that's it. I find these two debuff EX Skills to be a far worse exploit than the Bravery-to-HP system. Another downgrade is the floaty combat system. Whether you are: guarding a bravery attack successfully, miss a bravery attack (or stop one mid-combo), stagger frames (especially from marksman classes), getting hit by an HP attack, or dodging, the whole process of any of these said actions are sluggish and "slow" for the most part. Reaction time from most attacks now feels predictable and boring. It can't hold a candle to the lightning-fast bravery attacks from NT's predecessors. Despite the many problems the game has (including its terrible matchmaking servers and game-breaking intermissions) I do like a few aspects in NT such as the cooperative system (though it is a love-hate relationship) and how each character has a (mostly) unique playstyle. That's about it. For the most part, Dissidia NT is far inferior to Dissidia Duodecim.

If you play at a level above gold, a lot of these points are not really "issues" so long as you have a team who knows what they are doing (rare, I know). Wall-rush --> HP attack leave the attacking player predictable and exposed for quite a while. The idea is that your teammates will not be braindead monkeys and actually assist you, either by interrupting the HP attack, or counterattacking afterwards for a free brave break. Unfortunately, most lower level players have extreme tunnel vision, rarely switch targets, and spread out over the whole map. Being a team game, it's important to stay as a group so you can play together and watch out for one another. Enfeeble + bindga is not meta by any means. It's gimmicky at best, and pretty predictable and avoidable. Enfeeble's range is garbage and it has a very long cool down. Bindga has probably one of the slowest projectile speeds in the game, and can be avoided by using terrain (and if it's anything like slowga or poisonga, you can completely negate it by blocking). If it's really giving you problems, esunaga is an option as well. Charging HP attacks is something that generally only works in lower ranks as a dodge punish for players who overuse dodging. In most cases, jumping and dashing can completely avoid these attacks, and put you into position for a counterattack. Additionally, charging an HP attack leaves the attacker stationary and open to attacks from your team, assuming they are not bots. Not having dedicated servers sucks, but that has nothing to do with NT itself, and more to do with SE. I'll close by saying neither game is perfect. They both have pros and cons and it's akin to comparing apples to oranges if you remove the "Dissidia" namesake.

idc is this comment was 8 months ago, it's so blindly written and outright stupid, obviously written by someone who is probably mad that they are unable to be good at a higher skill-cap game. HP Attack "Spamming" isn't viable, normally gives free HP or brave mixup on ez reaction dodge, or guaranteed damage if you space it right, some HP attacks can just be beaten by assassin bravery attacks. obviously because you couldn't handle Vaan players. the wallsplats system is akin to a normal fighter in that it guarantees you an attack for free. firstly, you're obviously uneducated how the game works, as the stun is 1.6 seconds, not 2s. Charging HP attacks off a wallsplats is NOT a mixup, just hold guard and react to the full charge, since minimum charge is guaranteed and they're being stupid by not opting for it. and teammates can punish people who attempt to combo you, as in high level play it's actually more useful for setting up marksman HP or as a form of smaller CC. more interesting than a deadsplat. EX Skills make the game way more interesting than broken HP chain attacks and ez parry/dodges. Enfeeble is literally only for stopping people escaping summon ults. Bindga is 110% YOUR fault for getting hit by it. you can guard it, lure it into terrain, and it's slow as hell. there's lots of synergy that is involved with the mechanics alongside the characters exclusive EX skill for themselves. also, if you're having connection problem, use a LAN cable, it isn't hard. Then the most important point, balance. the game is a million times more balanced than duodecim, and im thankful for it. this game is a balancing mess with no competitive stature, it's literally a party game for FF fanservice. Zidane and Ultimecia for example, are leagues above everyone else, and the cast is pretty much divided into trash-tier or top-tier anyways. in NT every character is viable and strong in their own way, of course some are stronger than others, but it's easily one of the best balanced fighting games to date. 3v3 is also a unique concept that obviously will have to make character individually less powerful than in duodecim. but you get way more strategy, co-op online play, and way more interesting ways to play. NT is far superior to Duodecim and succeeds it by a mile.

No matter what anyone says, Duodecim is superior to NT. The characters are varied and unique and fun to play. In NT they are just a copy paste of each other with recolored, spells etc. Even the base face model are the same haha

O12 has a better chase mechanic that NT. I don’t understand how a game can go backwards in development. I understand that NT is directly ported from the arcade version but I honestly thought NT was going to add new mechanics and features to the console version, but they didn’t.

I assume chase was made in order to make battles look cooler and more intense but it got a lot better in 012 than the very first dissidia on the psp

If Tifa doesn’t get her feint ability, Rolling Blaze, Burning Arrow, and Meteor Strike in NT when she comes, I’m gonna be SEVERELY upset lol. Not to mention her iconic Final Heaven. She was my main in Duodecim and I’ve waited so long for her, I can’t imagine how bad it’d be if they messed up her mechanics. Like Duodecim Tifa is SO good I cannot 😭😭🙌🏼💯

I still played the game but in an emulator. I used to play this game months after it was released but the life span of my psp didn't make it to 2021.

I am really confused here 2:50. You used your assist to get out of Tifa last blow, the message 'assist locked' appeared, yet your assist gauge didnt get gray and you used a few seconds later. Is it some acessory?
