Should lay off on Busch a little bit (lol). He did get us Jackson Ferris (bona fide LH stud of a SP, was straight DEALIN' for the Loons last night) and that premium 5-tool OF prospect Zyhir Hope (should be back with the Quakes shortly upon completing his rehab assignment, but I see him moving fairly quickly through the system after that). That said, you get no argument from me regarding your comment. History has proven all this to be true and I certainly don't like it any more than you and everyone else on here for that matter. About time Dodgers start fully embracing that "merit" system Casey keeps reinforcing on his channel and do away with rampant favoritism that this current regime still seems all too obsessed with.

Feducci is being called up because he is 1 of 2 healthy players on the 40 man roster. Other is Cartaya whos not ready. Anyone else would have created DFA to add them to the roster.

VERY good question. Hopefully, this move means Dalton's on his way to AAA OKC anyway because he doesn't need to remain in AA ball at this point.

Because Feduccia is already on the 40 man, so no move needs to be made in those terms, he's next in line, he is very good, and he has done everything he has been asked to do to become a Major Leaguer. This has nothing to do with Dalton Rushing, and everything to do with Hunter Feduccia.

I would think Will would, but I think this move is moreso to put an MLB tag behind him for trade purposes, either before the deadline, or in a DFA trade after the deadline.

Hmm, apparently management is scrambling in wake of what has happened with Freeman and his family of late. I like Feduccia, but Smith and even Barnes have been getting it done behind the plate so far this season. If they're looking to replace Freeman at 1B while he's on the RL, they should've brought up someone like Sweeney or Hoese instead. Better yet, BRING UP WARD (especially after the way Vargas lollygagged it on the basepaths that cost the Dodgers the game outright yesterday, ugh!). Just no real thought put into this move at all, makes me think Friedman's gonna let the trade deadline expire with nothing much to show for it...

Understood, and everything you said here is accurate, but this is a celebration of a lot of work, and no guarantees that is was ever going to happen. This is Hunter's moment, Dodgers fans need to give him that moment, he's earned it.

@@dodgersdailyWell Hunter better make the most of this moment because from what I've seen how the Dodgers have been managing their farm system over the past several years, it's become apparent that they let a good deal of these kids stay longer than they should down there even when they've done just about all that was asked of them. You know me Casey, I CAN'T STAND ML-READY PLAYERS BLOCKED FOR NO VALID REASON WHATSOEVER! If you're not gonna give them their rightful due, deal them to a club that will. Simple as that, plus it keeps the pipeline from being needlessly clogged (someone just mentioned my boy Rushing in this thread, classic example of what I'm getting at). Well I'm done airing out my frustrations on here (lol), good interview as always buddy! 👍

@PeekaPeep I think Feduccia coming up rather than Ward or Hoese is just a function of who is on the 40 man. The Dodgers are super heavy with pitchers at AAA and the only two position players on the 40 are Feduccia and Cartaya. It will be interesting to see if the Dodgers maybe give Will Smith two days off from catching + the day off on Monday. Maybe Barnes catches today with Smith at 1B and Feduccia tomorrow afternoon with Smith back at it in San Diego on Tuesday.
