@@bananaore7, postseason pitching has chewed up and spit out many great hitters before. How long have you guys been watching baseball? 😝 "Jeff Bagwell hit a paltry .226 with a .685 OPS over 33 postseason games. In his lone World Series appearance, he went 1-for-8 over 10 plate appearances. "Craig Biggio hit only .234 overall for his postseason career, failing to drive in a run or steal a base over his first 14 postseason games. "Barry Bonds reached the National League Championship Series on four different occasions but hit only .203 (16-for-79) once there. "Roy Campanella hit .237 with four home runs in 32 World Series games. "Robinson Cano hit only .136 in the 2009 World Series; Cano hit a combined .075 (3-for-40) over two rounds in 2012 playoff action. "Prince Fielder hit just five homers over 185 postseason at-bats while hitting just .189. This was lowlighted by three series of averages of .150 or worse. "Willie F'ing Mays hit just one home run during 99 plate appearances and contributed just six extra-base hits. In 1951, he hit into a record three double plays in Game 4 of the World Series while hitting just .182 in a losing effort against the Yankees. "Mark McGwire just five postseason homers in 42 games. After hitting .389 in the 1989 ALCS, McGwire hit just .189 over his next seven playoff series (79 at-bats). "Joe Morgan hit just .182 over 50 postseason games. In the Cincinnati’s World Series loss in 1972, Morgan hit .125 (3-for-24) and hit underneath .200 in six of his 11 career playoff series. "Tony Perez, in over 47 career playoff games drove in 25 runs, most of which came during a three-home run, seven RBI effort during 1975 series (in which he still hit just .179). Take away that ’75 showing, and Perez never homered in 26 other World Series games and hit underneath .100 in two separate NLCS appearances. "Jorge Posada, in 492 trips to the plate, hit just .248 and contributed a -2.33-win probability added. Posada’s average in ALCS play sat at .224 before lowering to .219 lifetime in the World Series. "Jackie Robinson hit under .200 in three of his six World Series appearances and managed just six stolen bases in the process. "Alex Rodriguez hit under .200 in eight separate series with the Yankees, tallying 33 strikeouts against just five RBI in those series. "Mike Schmidt's postseason resume is largely lackluster, lowlighted by a 1-for-20 showing in the 1983 World Series. Schmidt opened the series 0-for-13 before singling in the fourth inning of Game 4. "Alfonso Soriano hit .213 with 53 strikeouts of 44 games. This includes going 11-for-47 (.234) over two World Series trips with the Yankees and posting three hits over 28 at-bats (.107) over consecutive NLDS with the Cubs. "Mark Teixeira was MIA during that October run, hitting just .180 with two home runs over three rounds of postseason play. As a whole Tex struggled with stunning regularity in October, including going 0-for-17 in the 2010 ALCS and hitting .167 during an ALDS exit in 2011. "Jim Thome, in his postseason career of 71 games and 267 at-bats managed to hit 17 home runs but offset it with a dismal .211 average and 73 strikeouts. Between 2000 and 2012, he never managed more than three hits in a single series. "Dave Winfield hit just .208 over 116 plate appearances, including a 1-for-22 World Series in 1981. This followed an equally disastrous ALCS the same year, when he hit .154 over three games." (source: YardBarker)

Not wild at all because it was perfectly legal. They even teach baserunners to do this, because there’s no official running lane between first and second base. He didn’t look back to avoid the tag, nor did he threw his arms up to interfere. It was just a heads up play on his part.

@camicawberАй бұрын
@@robfolk7619 There's a running lane between home and first, but not between any other bases. And there's no set base line on the field - the runner's base line is only established when he's trying to avoid a tag. When that is the case, he can only go in three feet in either direction to try and avoid the tag. But if nobody's trying to tag him, a runner can go where he wants. Now, he can't stick his hands out to try to interfere with a throw, but Machado didn't do that. He ran on the infield grass. It's unusual, but he's allowed to do it so long as he's not actively trying to avoid a tag.

The fact that the line change by Manny to intentionally impede the fielders throws is legal is mind-bogglingly stupid..... Then again, can't expect much from someone who threw a ball at the other teams manager.....I'm sorry, "towards". If that's the level you have to stoop to in order to win a game, you might as well admit you already lost.
@stevencramsie9172Ай бұрын
You mean a heads up play by a veteran that was 100% legal? You do realize they teach baserunners to do this, right? There’s no official running lane between first and second base, he didn’t look back to avoid the tag, nor did he throw his arms up when sliding like Aaron Judge always does. He did exactly what he needed to do to help the team and it paid off
@johnnysoccer1983Ай бұрын
@@stevencramsie9172 please pay more attention to what I said. At no point did I say it's not legal, I don't understand why it is legal when it's clear a blatant obstruction of the fielders. It is currently within the rules, but what's to stop them literally looking at the ball and moving in the way of it on purpose? It's clear it's intentional, it's clear it's trying to interfere with their ability to get them out/make plays, it's clear that it was a SIGNIFICANT change in his running line and went well out of his way to do so..... How is that still legal? It's moronic that it's legal.

Max Muncy has major issues in this post season. Aside from his hr in Game 2, he’s been striking out left and right with his full swing every time. Why can’t he just think about the entire team and try to get on a base instead? All he does is try to swing as hard as he can every single time and try to get a home run and fails every. single. time. EXTREMELY selfish imho.
