A fun takeoff aboard a JetBlue Airways A320-232 bound for Las Vegas from JFK International Airport. Right around the 8:45 mark, the aircraft turns quickly as if to avoid something in the air. It certainly didn't feel like turbulence or wake turbulence, rather a very intentional move to avoid something in our path. What do you think? possibly. But also unlikely. It could be the Autopilot re centring itself. Or it could be a sudden wind shift. But by the looks of it, I think it was done manually by the pilot.

I think most likely it's autopilot fighting against a sudden turbulence

@@MqLei autopilot dosent get turned on uintil at least 1000ft, most pilots don't turn it on until 3-7k so probably just instructed to make a turn right after departure or had to avoid birds

@@ariberman3723 No man I think the one ur talking about is the immediate right turn after lift off, that’s a standard JFK departure thing, but the one I’m talking about happens about 1 min later, where it’s high enough for the AP to be on

The move the op is talking about is at 8:40 and you can see the initial left wing down is not accompanied by left turning aileron input, the ailerons are moved only after to correct the bank, which indicates the move is caused by turbulence.

I feel like there's no way you're dodging anything during takeoff, even if you're able to see it and it's not "below" you (attitudinal speaking). Just trying to get as much space between you and the ground as quickly as possible, so you do have maneuverability and options.

Autopilot + wake turbulence. No big problem here. Just normal JFK stuff.

The left bank happened with flight 587 but imagine it non stop in both directions for the next 10 seconds and down the plane goes
