Doepfer A-126-2 Voltage Controlled Frequency Shifter II

Doepfer's analog Frequency Shifter together with its optional Expander is currently the one available in Eurorack Format. It offers manual control of frequency with both coarse and fine tune and mix between up shift and down shift. Both parameters are cv-controllable as well via attenuators.
The input is adjustable and offers a clipping LED. At the output stage we find a VCA controlled by an envelope follower to help minimize carrier bleed trough. This VCA can be controlled by external CV's as well. But we find it is often absolutely not necessary to make use of it in terms of signal quality.
The optional expander offers individual outputs for the dome filter, single outputs for upshift and downshift, ring modulator outputs, envelope follower output and a second input jack.
This video gives some basic impressions on different sound sources ranging from simple drums to more complex signals.

8:11 sounds like something Oscar Mulero would play. I got GAS for this module now...is the expander worth it?

The expander is worth it for individual Up and Down outputs. But Feedback can also be emulated using an additional mixer.
