Так и есть. Кстати, там сделана воронка, в виде фаски, аналогичной той, что на верхнем конце трубки, только внизу фаска внутренняя. Без воронки действительно горит чуть менее интенсивно.

Thanks for the kind words. Paraffin is a mixture of various hydrocarbons. Soot gives smoke its black color. Soot is unburned carbon from hydrocarbons. Soot is formed during incomplete combustion or thermal decomposition of paraffin hydrocarbons. That is, soot is formed if there is strong heating of hydrocarbons, and if, for example, there is not enough oxygen for complete combustion of the released carbon. For example, in the video, starting at 5:08, you can see that the lower part of the aluminum tube is blackened with soot. Because when heated strongly, a lot of carbon was released. But the carbon near the tube did not burn. Since aluminum has good thermal conductivity, some of the heat was lost along the tube, and in the flame close to the tube the temperature was insufficient for the combustion of carbon. The tube also partially limited the flow of oxygen from the air into the flame zone, which also led to incomplete combustion of carbon. At the same time, some part of the carbon, in the form of soot, settled on the tube. And some of the carbon, in the form of soot, flew away in the form of smoke. If the tube is not in the flame, it is clear that soot is no longer released. Since all the released carbon burns, that is, it is oxidized by atmospheric oxygen to carbon dioxide. You can understand even better the processes that occur when paraffin is heated, for example, from the book by Michael Faraday - “The Chemical History of a Candle.”

Горит испарения парафин , стеарин , воск . Это можно назвать -- пиролиз .
