Does a coffee stout beer pair well with pipe tobacco?

On today’s episode, we pair Fairhope Brewing Company’s Judge Roy Bean, a coffee stout, with Cornell & Diehl’s Warped-Saint Espresso tobacco from 2023. Jeremiah finally got a good lighter, a Chief gold lighter.

Another great one guys. Life is too short for hot beer. Pilsner tastes good depending on what the Racoon has drank (drunk?). I'm a pilsner, lager and stout man myself - not an IPA fan. The lighter sound is very cool (you invested more than "a little" money in that bad boy. Seeing the Blue Angels is cool, no matter what they are doing.

Now that sounds like a good pairing…I love stouts and coffee. Growing up an Air Force brat, I also love air shows. Saw mostly the T-birds, of course, but the one time I saw the Angles they were just as awe inspiring.

Thank you! They paired great together. All the credit for the pairing goes to Scott. I grew up a Navy brat, and I vaguely remember seeing an air show when I was really small. I remember thinking it was awesome to see. I don’t remember many details, but I do remember it wasn’t the Blue Angels. I’d still love to take the kids to see them, I just don’t know that I’ll ever get the courage to sit in traffic that long to join the crowd in all that heat.

Back in the ole fraternity days, all we could afford were Jack’s, Dixie and Fallstaff. Nice lighter Jeremiah. My bride and I planned our wedding around the Arkansas Razorbacks football schedule. We planned an afternoon wedding at 2:30pm on the Saturday of their last game of the season (7pm kickoff). At the last minute, they were offered a 2pm televised slot. A bunch of those invited went to the game instead of the wedding (that was back in the SW conference days when season tickets were passed down from generation to generation). 😮

Of course, getting married during football season was one of the very first things my wife and I 100% agreed on during planing for our wedding. I mean, there would have been a chance her and I wouldn’t have showed up to the wedding if it was same time as one of our teams, hahahaha!!

I too hated coffee for years, then slowly started drinking it with a ton of cream and sugar, and eventually graduated to full blown black coffee. Now a good cup of coffee is one of my favorite things, especially on a cool morning.

It was cool to see you enjoying Fairhope Beer...Dominik wanted to try local beers during his visit and really enjoyed the various Fairhope offerings! He really got a kick out of seeing the Blue Angels and the NAS Museum, too! He'll be back for another visit in December, hopefully we can meet up with y'all then! I see the Blue Angels practice along our beach often, while I'm hiking at Fort Morgan. About ten years ago, some of my camera club crew joined me on my birthday as we reserved the top of the Pensacola Lighthouse to see the Angels practice right at eye level! They cater to those who watch them from the Lighthouse and fly very close and low to it! It was amazing!
