Insurance companies of ALL types make money by NOT paying claims. This means they will always fight to pay less.
@LygerTheCLaw5 ай бұрын
they also have specific writing in their policy that you cannot modify the engine's performance, that includes removing the cat and modifying the exhaust to certain degrees, even a simple cold air intake can void your warranty because it allows water, sand mud, etc into your engine. warranties do require you to follow simple common sense rules that they outline for you, but you have to be able to read english and actually open the papers to read them. i doubt this kid did either of those, but he certainly did modify his car. he's only lucky that he called the news instead of tried to fight this legally, because he would have lost.

Remember an insurance company is a FOR PROFIT ! They want profits not payments. So if they can refuse almost every single claim, they can make more profit. No matter if it is a warranty company like Carshield or auto insurance like Allstate. they are in it for the money and not it's customers. Insurance companies will fight tooth and nail to make sure they do not have to pay a dime for your claim. Unless they can get it from the other insurance company that does not want to pay either.

These warranties are worthless. They are borderline scams. They have so many outs and doggy contract language. Just save the money to the side for repairs.

The advice at the end, about contacting the company that sold you the warranty (in this case, the dealer) is the best way to go about it when they start putting you through the ringer. Contact the warranty company first and when they stonewall you, then go to who sold it. I definitely wouldn't sell a product to a customer if I didn't believe they would actually take care of them.
@andy06822 жыл бұрын
its a vehicle service contract, not a extended warranty. You don't pay for warranties. I've done 2 claims in my lifetime with them and they both had paid out, one for a transmission replacement and the other was ac and various sensors. Even paid my rental. My suggestion is research the company providing the contract.
@JpOcDenver2 жыл бұрын
Same experience. My service contract paid for itself and then some. No issues getting things fixed and paid for.
@richardruscito12312 ай бұрын
The insurance company never said they wouldnt pay. They justed needed an official diagnosis to find the cause of failure. The customer has to give the repair facility the go ahead. The warranty company won't pay if they don't even know if the repair would be covered.

@colewendolowski244011 ай бұрын
Well, the problem w/ teardown is the fact that if the company pays for it and there is nothing wrong, there is no repair being done. If the customer pays for T, regardless of there being a failed covered component or not the shop gets paid and there is no confusion. Also seems like he had an exhaust on it etc. mods void most warranties too

Same thing happened to our 2018 Nissan Pathfinder engine. Had owned it for exactly one year. Ended up getting an engine light that came on when my husband was driving to work. When leaving from work, the engine light was still on so he had to drive it home, and it died on the side of the road. Had it towed to a Nissan dealership to find out the engine needed to be replaced and wasn’t drivable. Warranty company checked it out and denied coverage because they said we drove 50 miles on a non-blinking engine light. Contacted selling dealer who communicated strongly with the warranty company and warranty company still denied coverage because of the 50 miles on an engine light. Warranty company said immediately when engine light came on we should have pulled over and called for a tow. Husband was in the middle of nowhere with hardly any cell service at the time engine light came on. Selling dealership ended up replacing the engine with a used engine. The warranty company still continues to have their product sold by selling dealer. Just got our Pathfinder back two days ago after being gone for three months. Didn’t take even 24 hours after we picked it up and engine light is back on again. 🙄

In addition to the above story, it is important to note that we paid over $3000 additional when purchasing our Pathfinder so that we could have a really good coverage with Principal auto warranty company in Washington. What a joke.

Most if not all true car/truck/motorcycle people would tear out and build their own engine. Me I just go out and buy the car I want and build a engine the way I want it. A stock engine, transmission and suspension sucks for hard core builders.

showing a ricer kid who obviously beats on his modified car and how they managed to get warranty to cover the repairs, good going on showing how not to treat a warranty. the policies specifically state modifications will void the warranty, so he's lucky he called the news because otherwise they would have told him to pound sand. as well the $1k tear down is not something the warranty charges but the shop doing the repairs, it is to cover the costs involved in case the warranty is declined. shops do not work for free.
