The best test drive is when Nile reviews a Mercedes

I don't disagree! This was a great week personally, I thoroughly enjoyed my time with this one, but as soon as I dropped it off on Monday I was back in the seat of my 2013 for most of this week. I enjoyed the new one, but I love mine more.

This 2024 we're driving? Brand new as in it rolled off the dealership lot as I started filming it - no. Is it a current model year with less than 10,000 kms used on the press fleet - yes.

An expensive toy for the rich who don't give a hoot about fuel saveings.....but good for them to be able to afford superior safety protection then the rest of us.

The safety technology that consumer cars have, even the most affordable ones today can thank the S-Class of 20 years ago. These technologies are pioneered by Mercedes-Benz with high R&D costs, but as they test and proliferate the technology it eventually trickles down as consumer-focused brands reverse-engineer these systems and find ways to incorporate and adapt their own versions. So yes, the rich will spend 5x the price of a Honda Civic on a new car so Honda Civic owners in 10-20 years can have the same safety for a fraction of the cost.
