I bought a 2024 TRD Off Road Premium in April. This was the first brand new vehicle I’ve ever owned; my vehicles tend to be 10 to 25 years old usually. I’ve loved the 5th gens since I first saw them in the winter of ‘09/‘10, but always felt that I had more responsible places to spend my money. Since I was a kid, I’ve always wanted to buy a new vehicle at least once in the color of my choice with all the options I selected. I wasn’t impressed with many things on the newly unveiled 6th gen., so I went ahead with purchasing a ‘24. I’ll be 40 in a few months… perhaps this is my version of a midlife crisis. There weren’t any other models that were exciting to me in 2024. Most of my previous vehicles have been full size American body on frame trucks, SUVs, and cars and I felt strongly that if I would be dropping tens of thousands of dollars, I expect it to be body on frame. So to answer your question, I’m one of the first time 4Runner buyers in 2024. I’m still thrilled that I got a 2024 while I still could. Inventory in my area has dwindled to virtually nothing as far as new goes since production is now over and the 2025s are realistically several months away from being on dealer lots.

I won’t miss the poor handling, horrendous nose dive, top heavy feeling, rust, and cheap build quality.

Got a 2023 CPO ORP in Lunar Rock. My dad had a 4Runner when I was a kid and I always wanted one. I decided to get one now in my favorite color before the 2025 comes out. It’s a well made tank that I adore. Will hand it down to my son.

It's so sad... the Japan version has rear seats worthy of the Price and Crown name (heated & vented rear seats, power shade, climate, grab handles, etc). I is almost Lexus GS+ level of quality.

Hey PRN great Video. I'm a 45 y old single man bought my first 4Runner this year in June: 2021 TRD Off-Road Premium with KDSS. When my 2008 Dodge Ram was hit and declared a total loss in February I was so discouraged to have to move up to something newer....I really hate all this new tech and wanted none of it. You couldn't image how excited I was to find this gem new/old vehicle it's perfect in everyway for me. Use it around town, camping trips and off-roading. I only drive around 10, 000 km/year and do so like a Grandma on Sunday lol and coming from a 5.7 Hemi V8 and a 5 speed automatic stuck in 3rd gear so I find the gas economy on the 4Runner refreshing.

Simple reliable repairable solid is what many of us want. Should have come out with a new model instead of changing runner. If they sold a stripped down hi Lux pickup in the US it would sell well

It’s the only vehicle you can buy that you know you can keep for a long time and it will be reliable, dependable, and hold value. Tech doesn’t make anything better it’s just more stuff to frustrate you that can fail over time. If you only keep a vehicle for a few years at a time you can have anything and be happy with it. This is for people willing to spend more money to get a solid product to keep for the long haul.

Sorry but of course they will use more plastic, all the regulations around the world require less consumption, so the car needs to lose weight to achieve it, I talked to several Engineers of Daimler once I was working at a Tier1 supplier

I tried to love the new Land Cruiser and the new gen 4runner but after owning my 2016 4Runner for several years and not having any issues aside from strut replacements and then feeling the quality of new vehicles today, It just makes me love my 4runner even more. Absolutely getting another 5th gen to enjoy my worrying free transportation. Nothing is more frustrating than having a car that’s giving you unexpected trouble. I rather know im spending more on gas than a surprise bill getting something fixed later. Screw that BS and time at the shop.

I love the 5th Gen 4Runner. Sad to see them ditching the V6 5 speed for modern tech which will fail. It doesn’t need all the bells and whistles. It’s known for its simplicity and reliability. 4 banger with turbos will blowup and all the hybrids are just lame. I’m glad I got my naturally aspirated v6.

I picked up a ‘23 last year on November 30. I didn’t want any parts of a ‘25. No regrets…. Embarrassed to say I haven’t even put 3,200 miles on it yet but I have changed the oil once. I’m retired and have a few vehicles and motorcycles.

Nothing and thats the best part. Everything is more expensive which it is what it is right? I rather know whats quality knowing what i paid for than the surprise cheap made gimmicks later giving me the surprise visit at the shop. Let the guessing game happen to those that are so confident in the new product later because from what im observing across the board, Everything has taken a quality fall. I wont be keeping my head in the sand like there hasn’t been any change in that department. Ill just keep going living the stress free life.🍿

I bought literally the same car from the FBI at an auction the tow capacity is actually 9600 lb Ford is the master of Towing it does make it pretty stiff riding but I bought it to pull a travel trailer and it does a very good job. If you get one of these enjoy it and please do not drive with fog lights on when there's other traffic around.

We bought a new 23 4runner Limited. We want it for the long term reliability and because we live in a rural area on gravel roads. So lots of snowy roads and muddy roads. May take more gas, but gain that back on reliability. Did not want 4 cyl. turbo engine. No issues with it for the year and a half we've owned it. Simply love it!
