The things that Petronella talked about only apply to SOME age gap couples-NOT ALL! My wife was 30 years older than me. We had a beautiful and loving marriage for 6 years. I would not have traded my marriage for ANYTHING ELSE! The only reason it was cut short was because she passed away due to health problems. I'm 25 and have had high blood pressure and a bad heart since I was a child, I also cannot have children and cannot be bothered with relationships because of my problems and lack of wanting to deal with others drama lol Age really doesn't matter and as someone who has lived since a young age knowing I won't have a long life and any moment could be my last, I'd say do not be bothered by people ever saying "You could die tomorrow" because many never know and many of us live past what anyone thought we would but still live moment by moment, while others lives end cruelly without warning and way too young.

Age is not what it used to be. People in their teen age years are CEOs of corporations, even building their own custom homes. People in their 70s & 80s are running their 1st marathons, sometimes starting new careers. Age is less of a factor, now than it was 30 years ago, even 10 years ago. Guys have been marrying younger for centuries. It's now, more accepted for women to do the same thing. Relationships, marriages between younger guys & older women can work just as between people of around the same age. Having seen it many times in real life, I know it can work. What if he wants children and she is unable to have children? Many people in their 20s & 30s are also unable to have their own, so, they adopt or use IVF. Same goes for older woman/younger guy relationships. It can work.

i want to say briefly that an age gap can play a big part in a relationship for example; getting involved with say a twenty five yr old man an your an eighteen yr old woman or a 40 yr old woman and a man who is in late twenties... i think as a parent that shocks you when your daughter or son is bringing home someone twice or three to four times their age - you dont know if they are being pressured or taking advantage of them or the worst is when they're not open or honest because you'd disapprove and then there us seeing text messages from someone you dont know. Like who is this Pete i dont know she knows a Pete.... Age, i do believe does play a big part in a relationship. I'm 30 and my partner is 28 at the moment and thats not too much of an age gap but some women get invloved with men like Monica in friends with her eye doctor - she wanted kids in her future and because of the age he was he really didnt want to have anymore kids because hed done all that - so it might be nice when you get past that age and its a little more acceptable because your a grown woman or man, but by dating an elder woman or man of a higher age - heres the thing, different age groups want different things and i dont think it can work out long term as much as you really want it to be and your feelings views and that change as you get older so i think u do need someone roughly the same age. I mean, women go through menapause and so certain things that one person will go through the other wont understand and it just gets complicated

there might be odd execeptions to the rules and they could very much love each other but by entering into an older or younger relationship you need to look at the bigger picture as a whole, first, are you prepared to have more quiet nights in rather than going out all the time - are you going to attend tea parties and sit and eat cake - this is of course for later. What if you want sexual intercourse and they're too tired - im saying ask yourself questions what you want from the relationship before you jump in. Get an idea how your life will unfold as time goes on and ask yourself these questions - and usually people have a good judge of how they want to live their life and how committed they are to this person and what they are willing to do or in a way sacrifice. You've gotta know ur partner loves you because there is the fear sometimes they might loose the younger person to someone more their age - it comes to the age old question do you follow your heart or your head... thinkers or naturally heartfelt people

I'm not going to say that woman in the pastel green dress is stupid, instead I will say she has a most unenviable attitude towards death which could come at any age. It is advisable to get your things in order once you have reached the legal age especially if there is something financially to disperse with if you're no longer there to stipulate. I don't really think an age gap in itself is an issue unless it is obviously causing problems, for example if each is at a different stage in their life etc, but so long as they are both happy then I don't think an age gap is so bad in itself. I'm saying this because my bf is 8 years younger but so far it works. Each to their own. I don't think when you want to go out with someone the first thing you necessary think of their age and I think it'd be odd not to go out with someone just because of their age. So long as you get along then I don't really see how it's a problem.

I'm going to say this, Petranella is obviously a "Hater" who is very bitter and sour over the fact that her old relationship with that older gentleman she was with went South and was not all she had hoped and expected it to be. Seems to me that she was more so looking for a older gentleman to take her out on constant dates showering her with gifts and material things. I'm 46 and my partner is a mature 29 year old, when the two of us spend time together communicating, and just enjoying each other, it is as if there is no age-gap there whatsoever. I myself know some younger people who don't have a big interest in going out and partying, would even prefer hanging back at home on a Friday or Saturday night, just as I know some older people, even in my own age bracket who would rather be out partying, spending time out with others being a social butterfly over the weekends. as far as I'm concerned that is not so much of an age issue as it is a personality issue. Some people no matter the age, just enjoy being out and about and happened to be very social people. You really have to be secure in yourself and know what it is you want! If you are younger and find yourself dating people your own age and your relationships go from one toxic relationship to the next,if you decide tomorrow to date an older man or an older woman,you will just find yourself in another toxic relationship!! It is not the person's age difference that makes it toxic!! It is YOU!! It's all about how you feel about yourself, what you are willing to accept from another human being in any relationship. Some older people look to get involved with someone younger, because they have not gotten out of that party mode, they're still looking for someone to go out and party with, and that's all good! If that's what you're looking for. The only concern I have with big age gaps is that if there is say, a thirty year gap, as petronella referred to, someone Tina's age would be caring for someone of eighty years old. Tina said she still has lots of energy, and certainly seems gregarious and out going, but someone her age would have to spend their energy caring for their partner. Not to mention the sadness of when that partner dies and they feel they are, by let's say age 65, too old to look for someone else, they may become extremely unhappy, as they may not feel the same way about younger people as they do abut older people. That said, if a person knows wholly in their heart that their partner is right for them, that is entirely their business and no one else's, certainly not to judge. Just to make myself crystal clear, the only concern I have in large age gaps is for the wellbeing and happiness of the younger partner.

This is how i look at it. At 26 my limit would be 23 if she was younger than me up to 35 if older. I need someone that i ca talk to, someone who can be my friend, someone who has the same interests as me, I can't get that with a girl who is 18-19-20 years old. I am twenty-one and with a thirty-one-year-old. While your statement is for the most part true, it isn't exactly fair to group all younger women into some generalized form. I realize it was mostly about the sex and how I look by his side at first but he is my best friend. We travel together, hike together, go on road trips, stay in on Friday nights, discuss extraordinarily heavy topics because that suits our personalities. I wrote my own curriculum at nineteen and sold it to two high schools in my area, I've started a non-profit, I've lived on my own. While these things can't make up for the maturity I simply won't find until later years, my age certainly doesn't define our compatibility. My age doesn't automatically make me a shallow woman. In fact he's the one that would rather go out shopping while I find no satisfaction is such base things, as I only own about five tops and bottoms. Prejudice can often hinder some truly amazing experiences.

What i said is true for alot of girls but it isnt true for every single girl in the world. Of course how you feel is based on your own life experiences, it has worked out for you but for me while i am only 26 being with younger girls has not worked.

Omg not all older people end up having to have knee replacements or get high blood pressure. Look after yourself and you wont. I have dated younger guys my last bf was 30 years younger than me. As for stamina even younger people lack stamina. Everyone is different. You cannot put everyone in the same box. The heart wants what the heart wants and the heart doesnt understand numbers. I'm 21 and with a 31-year-old man, and I realize that this is looked down upon. And for good reason. I'm not going to pretend that he's with me for any other reason than my age. It's appealing to a lot of older men I think. I've done more than most girls my age education and work wise so I'm slightly ahead of my years, but that can't make up for the experiences I simply haven't had yet. The maturity that I will not gain until I come into myself more as an adult woman. Hell I have barely ever even spent time in bars much less fully understood all spectrums of this adult life that I'm so new to. I believe over time an age gap doesn't matter much, but when it is someone in their early twenties dating up, it is definitely cause for concern. I realize I'm a complete hypocrite in saying this but I'm not going to pretend that I'm naive to these facts.

Looks is the first thing that people notice and are attracted to. It's not all about personality. If it was all about personality we would fancy all our friends male and female. It's natural for human-beings to be attracted to something that looks nice whether it be a person, a painting, or an ornamet. You don't look at an ornamnet and say "That ornament looks nice on the inside!" I bet when you see a hot guy walk past you you don't look and think "Wow look at the personality on that!"Men don't just stay with women because they are good looking. A personality is important also, but you have to be physically attracted to a person. He is just attarcted to a girl that happens to be younger than him.
