Hi Tim - do you ever try to do the stereo mike thing on acoustic guitar? XY pattern etc.....?

No I haven’t. The only stereo pair I have are my rode m5’s. I may give it a go and post the results.

Where is the Tim Moxey monogrammed capo though??

It’s on my other guitar. It matches the wood of that one better. 😄 I love that capo. Thank you for giving it to me.

Unfortunately your Cole Clark won't project as well as other acoustics (Taylor/Martin). They are well known for being guitars that sound better plugged in. I own 2 CC and never record with a mic..... if ever....only direct, but if I want a really good mic'd sound use my Martins. So to these microphones .....would love to have heard strumming lower on the fret board = open chords , no capo. Best acoustic recordings = 2 microphones. Your right....move the mics around, find the best position. Your preamps will also make a huge difference!! Nice attempt, but I don't think the mics are the problem here!!

Thanks for your comment. I guess beauty is in the eye (or ear) of the beholder. :) I really like the Cole Clarke acoustic sound. I played a number until I found the ones I liked. When I got around to recording the actual takes I used the pick up as well as the mics because I also like the sound of the pick up.
