Whilst every style of beer explained may not be all the craft beer channel may not be about, looking in to how you've been drinking beer wrong your entire life, how beer is made, brewing your first homemade beer, talking to beer experts, identifying cheap vs expensive beers, price points, and answering beer questions from brewmasters is all a part of my real ale craft beer journey.

my local pub serves paulaner in the branded tankards, but when they run out due to the demand, switch to a lager glass, but not not the branded tankard, and although it tastes great either way, there is a marked difference in the mouthfeel and aroma between the tankard and the straight lager glass. I think it is imperative to the beer to drink it out of the correct style of glass. very interesting video. I really like Budvar in the bottles, but when i have had it out of a standard glass from the cupboard, it is very much an inferior experience.

It really does make a massive difference, and whilst finding the right glass for your established Belgian, German and Czech brewers is easy, I really do wonder how many craft beers I've had where the glass just wasn't the right one for the style and came across so much better (or worse) than for most others!

Since building my garden bar i've became a bit of a glass junkie however the best glass for any lager is the Stella chalice, it keeps the head brilliant 🍺

Funny you should say that, I've got a little Stella half-pint chalice that's absolutely battered, been through the dishwasher a thousand times and never comes anywhere near the studio, but...when I'm just having a beer with dinner it is very often my go-to. So they must be doing something right, even if it's not the beer! Cheers!

Hey Tom good vid! I use a Guinness glass for the obvious and a straight-up pint glass for everything else. My two fav local micro-brews pour in a variety of specialty glasses that I always find amusing.

Haha, chaotic glassware choices are interesting! The allegra style glass seems to be the go-to for all the reputable micro-pubs near me which are good, and I use them often, but simply can't be the best for absolutely everything.

I’ve also got the Budva Tankard but I actually prefer drinking the Budva in my Lowenbrau Tankard, it seems to hold the head better creating a creamier mouthfeel. Cheers 🍺

I find that a lot of the real ale bottles fail to retain a good head. I have a Samuel Smiths glass with the irritation bottom which 9/10 helps.

Yeah the nucleated glassware helps a lot with the right beer, but can easily ruin others so it's a careful game to be played. Pop a wheat beer in a nucleated glass for the most chaotic drinking experience (I would not recommend) 😂 Cheers!

Nicely done beer test, good beer choice. I have favourite glasses but Garage don't have any of them, might have to have a look at acquiring some more, they do have a good range. Certainly agree that some beers are better in certain glass shapes, or, in my case, plastics! Cheers #Disco

ive been trying to get a pilsner urquell equivalent to the budvar glass (i already own one of them). it thus far has eluded me in the UK.

@ I think their merchandise game is either much worse than Budvar’s or else they just don’t have the market in the UK. That is changing though seeing more place stock them not just bottle shops and big supermarkets.

Now I wonder how a popular German helles (Augustiner, HB, Weihenstephaner, ...) taste in a default Willibecher (helles glass), 0,25L tankard, 0,5L tankard and the Czech style glass. Could a helles taste even better in the Budweiser Budvar glass? Though this might upset German viewers...
